So after 2 1/2 months at S&W nothing has been done to my SD40VE.
They evaluated it and I got a estimate on that.

Gun denied warranty because of polished parts.

They have been giving me all sorts of excuses about why it's
not being fixed.

The last two were, they fix guns under warranty first, the parts are on backorder at least another 3 months.

Not going to wait till Dec. to hear another excuse.

They would have the gun longer than I owned it, unreal.

I'll get it done myself and I am VERY P'OED AT S&W.

i understand that and i would be pissed to say the least. i cannot beleive tgey still do not have replacement parts out yet.
question is will the slide from the sdVE fit and work on the swVE's? if so then you could replace you lower with all swVE parts for now

The SW extractor is setup different than the SD but might work, not buying a whole new lower.

I'm just going to fix it myself.

I'll machine a new sear and epoxy the sear block.

sorry to hear that, ive been wondering that for awhile but i keep confusing the sw's with the original black sd's since i looked at that thread sd9 vs sd9ve. thats kinda where i got the idea

Pretty much everything except sear.

Striker face was like a railroad track, polished that on a piece of glass.

Doesn't bother me I had to pay but I'm not doing without this gun for 6 + months.

I'll fix it myself and call them in the future for parts.

My buddy is interested in it also so.

well if hes not and if you decide to part it out ill buy your mags :)

Ok I'll remember that.

Just got a email stating gun has been requested to be returned and not fixed.

At least they got that right, now I wonder how long this will take.

SD40 Parts Kit

gunbroker. com has a complete parts kit for a SD40 on auction# 365276303 It ends in 6 days, currently 3 bids, up to .26 cents. This is might to the best way to go

I am sorry to hear the result of this. It seems that S&W is exceedingly backlogged on its routine service cases right now, and that creates all sorts of issues.

Sorry about that.

Yes, I have been watching the auction.

It started on the 11th and I hope I win it.

I need the sear block assembly.

anything to help, i know how it is without a gun and everyday starring outside or looking in stores and seeing the ammo and the uses for it...kinda like those damn food commercials when your really hungry! ;)

Funny stuff there ray.

I have a S&W 586 4 inch I'm carrying now.

My mod. 29 .44 mag. with an 8 3/8 is a little too much, although it is intimidating.

I use that for whitetail if I don't get one in archery.

i cannot see carrying that to be an easy task, that has got to wieght a ton! well the mod. 29 i mean. reminds me of the gun the penguin used on that batman movie....it was about the size of his cane, intimidating but not something i could fit on my belt without walking funny

How about machining a new sear block? While the cost maybe a little high it will be a stronger piece and may get smoother action.

THEN patient the darn thing. When S&W copies your work then you sue them. Hey! It worked for Glock.;)

Well they shipped my gun Fri. from CT.

It went to Memphis Tenn. and now it's on it's way back
to PA.
Crazy FedEx and their shipping ways.
