Gun shop 629-3 5" full lug, factory rubber, no lock, pin on hammer, factory drilled top strap, no box/papers. Clerk thought it might be a Lew Horton. It has been shot but barely. The action still feels raw, new, not at all broken in. No cartridge imprints on shield. Very light rings on cylinder face. I'm guessing maybe 6 rounds fired. Some odd but light scratches top and bottom of inside frame window. Otherwise very minor handling marks. Asking $1099.98 (At least it wasn't $1100.00). On used guns the shop will bargain a little but not much. I get the impression most customers don't bargain.
I don't really have any money at the moment but I do like the gun. What do you guys think of the asking price? The tag did indicate that it has been there several months. Sorry I didn't take pics.
They also have a 6" -3, also full lug but it has the lock.
I'm not interested but they also have a 10-5 for $400. Minor muzzle holster wear. also some speckles on frame but it would otherwise have a nice 90+ blued finish. The action is very tight.
I can't really imagine what it's life was. The holster wear on the front of the barrel indicates a working gun but the tight action and otherwise lack of evidence of being shot much contradicts that. Someone required to carry but not required to qualify? My experience was that even the house mice had to at least qualify a couple of times a year.
Thoughts? Especially on the 5" 629-3?
