I went to the show yesterday. There were some good deals for a change, it looks like the prices are starting to come back in line with the real world around here.

I never really thought much about a 57, that .41 caliber just seems to be something that falls in between the .357's and .44's that I already have and wouldn't be very useful. But when I came across this early S serial number gun that was priced about half of what I would have paid for it I figured what the hell. I even feel a little guilty about talking him down in price.

It's not perfect but its close and came with a display box and tools. Now I just need brass and some bullets.

Sorry about the picture, it was a quickie outside.

The 41 Magnmum has its following, although the group tends to include many handloaders. It is one of those cartriges that tends to do many things very well when loaded appropriately. COngrats on claiming a fine specimen!

I have two model 57s and a model 58.

.41 Remington magnum is a great round. You will not regret this purchase.

You do realize that the M57 will get lonely. You need to get a M58, M657 and at least one more M57, in a different barrel length, to keep it company. That is a beautiful M57.

I, like you, have .357s & .44s, and don't realy look at what is in between as something that I want or need. That having been said, that is a very nice n frame, in a popular barrel length, and by your own words, a good price. I have never read anywhere why the .41 was developed, but there are volumes containing what I don't know. Thanks for sharing the photo, and enjoy your prize!

Beautiful gun. Enjoy your new purchase.I have a 4 in 57 myself, without the case though.
I gotta ask what the 1/2 of what you expected to pay price was. I know someone else here is wanting the same thing.

Pretty gun with very nice wood. You will find the 41 is much closer to the 44 than it is to falling between it and the 357.

I also own 357's and 44's but for some reason my hand reaches for that 6" model 57 when I set targets up out back, don't quite understand it.

Congratulations as that's a winner and it sounds like you got it for a great price also.

Here is a better picture. I paid $400 OTD for this, I thought that was a great deal.

I noticed when I was cleaning it up that the barrel and cylinder had a little bit of plum color to it them that the frame doesn't have. Is that something someone has seen before?

The differing shades of blue do happen. Not supposed to, but I have a Model 40 with a cylinder that is off from the frame and I have seen others. Maybe detracts a bit but doesn't hurt anything. You still got a great deal.

Really nice wood. I wanted to say it again.

Nice 57.. Did you feel like taking it bad cause you felt bad for not paying very much for it...You did great.

What a nice N Frame. I don't have a 41 Mag but I load for a friend who has one. They are a great caliber, truly under appreciated, but I don't think that 57 of yours is, it's NICE.

Wow! A real beaut & a great price! I, too, think you will like the .41mag. As I get older, weaker and dumber, too, I am more recoil sensitive and don't like shooting the .44s and such very much anymore. The .41 is really comfortable to shoot. Nearly the power of a .44mag, less recoil, and flatter shooting.
