Gun Show in Bryan/College Station

Went there Friday. I have a short list so no need to study new gun vendors. Still took five hours to look. I did find somethings that I have been looking for. 1) set of 5.7X28 dies and 2) a Ruger Blackhawk Hunter in 45 Colt with a Simmons 2X20 pistol scope; at a good price.

I was planning to go but it was a 2 hour drive each way. Also I went to the 1st New Braunfels show a few months back and it was ok but small.

We got some surprisingly good "Titus Holsters" Kydex holsters there for my J-frame and my friend's beretta 92.

The sponsors of this show announced they had 15,000 pay to enter in 3 days. It exceeded all expectations.

Gun shows used to be worth the time, but problem is that now there is a "gun show" nearly every weekend. Too much non gun merch and not enough real gun guys with tables. Sad!

I went to the Lakeland Rifle & Pistol club show at LAL this summer and boy was it a total disappointment. While it was a gun show in its traditional sense the guns there were completely unimpressive. Everything was severely over priced. I think I found 3 chiefs there and not a single one was worth buying. I found a number of very poorly refinished model 10s being passed as high condition. Just a total waste of my time. I drove up the road to Guns Galore and found an RTF2 Glock 17 for $450, easily a $600 gun. I got a better deal at a gun counter than I did a gun show.
