gun show find today.

just got home from the gun show,i picked up an 28-2,99 %,looks to be un-fired, in box with all papers and tools,all original including grips,6 in,blue serial N 4949 yes a four digit serial no.it should be a 1969 or so if i remember right.

N series started in 69, so the gun is probably 1969 or early 70.

According to the SCSW, N1 started in 1969. I believe that there was some amount of overlap from the "S" to the "N" prefixes, and that S&W would have used the "S" frames to exhaust.

Did you pick that up at the Medina show. I looked at that one pretty hard. Nice piece looks to be unfired. What did you get it for? He was asking $650.00 for it which I know he would of done a little better. If it was a 4 inch I would have snagged it. Congrats you got a nice piece. Enjoy!!!

yes,i got it from dan at the medina show,i paid him 600.00 for it,i had to have it,i have never seen a nicer 28 than this one and the serial numer makes it even better.dan said two other people came back to buy it,so i feel lucky,thanks curt.

what did you think of it?i think i did good at that price,and i know it would have been gone if i hadn't bought it when i did.i have two other 28-2's,both "s"serial numbers,one in 4 in. the other 6 in.this is by far the nicest 28 that i have had a chance to buy.thanks curt.
