Went to a gun show at the WNC Ag center here in North Carolina....OMG....the prices they were asking for ammo and magazines were insane!!:eek: I saw Ruger BX-25 mags for $75.00 and I saw some AR style rifles for around $2500!!! The only items I ended up purchasing were two boxes of 50 Aguila 22LR hollow points for $4.50 a box. No one there had any bulk 22 LR what so ever. That place was packed though!!

Just came from one here in Rochester. Same deal. I couldn't believe people were paying for .223 @ $850 a case and more.

Also went to Ag Center. Worse than Christmas shopping in the afternoon. Could not find the pistol or rifle I was looking for. Had to settle for buying one ammo can. Just need to figure out what to put in it. 8-)

I stumbled into the WallyWorld ammo show....Fed 223 100rds/$34.97. Some...alot... followed me home

What are they getting for the ammo cans? What size is it? I need some, but the shipping on them is too much.

I'm always seeing ammo cans for $10, especially at the army navy store I go to. As far as magazines..the jack !@#$% raising prices to $40/mag (which are usually the guys that complain about the normal pricing)

At $850 a case, I'll start selling off what I have! I would not enjoy shooting ammo that was that expensive.

Hmmm, I wonder what I can sell my M&P15-OR for? :D

PMAGS in the gun store I work at are $55!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THATS RIDICULOUS!!!

we had ONE 15-22 mag, but it was $40! Im not giving in to the hype...the 15-22 mag sold today..

$55 for a PMAG is rediculous. In a gun store locally they are going for $70 here though. Why would anyone pay that? It's a shame that some gun shops are taking advantage of the situation. Also saw some ak47's in the $1200 range. Twice the normal price.

there was one at our area today (gun show) didn't want to get pissed off at all the snowbirds and the prices so i went rabbit hunting and got 10 with my 15-22. I get angry pretty quick when all the 'birds' down here show up to a limited space show in their friggin electric chairs cause they are too fat to walk, and then have to fondle everything they see. forget it! i have enough to see me through the hard times...6 months i predict, also my LGS.

I haven't been to a gun show in ten years. Now I remember why. Har Har.

1000 round case of Federal 223 ammo $1000.00 a case today
at the gun show in orlando.
Three weeks ago, same ammo $400.00 a case.
The sad part is that people are paying those prices.

Stu

No kidding....wheel chairs, walkers, canes...chicks with their dudes that just stand in the middle of the walk way while their guy sits there and talks bs to the people running the booths.:(

Forgot this one....some people also had dogs on a leash!

When I was searching for my MOE, I stopped in at a Mega Sporting Goods and they had an AK47 on the shelf for $2000!!! It was on consignment the worker stated and we laughed all the way out the door!

A case of 100 sealed pmags just sold on Gunbroker for 7500
What a bunch of nut jobs with more money than sense.
I got plenty of primers and brass. I need to start loading and
selling to these folks i guess.

I work at a LGS and its getting to be sad. The dealers are still getting their stock at the same price but are jacking the prices up because they see what everyone else is getting. .223 ammo went from $8.99/20 to $13.99/20. they are still getting it for like $5.50/20. On the rifles M&P15OR is now selling for $1499.99, used to be $949.99. Places are getting greedy.

What we need to do is convince everyone to not buy anything for 2 weeks so everyone will drop their prices back down.

Here's another, Ruger SR556FB, We used to sell them for $1899.99 now $2899.99. Crazy and sad

Gun show in Roanoke, VA today. Went hoping to get a 25 rd mag for less than $75.00. One of the first booths I saw was well stocked with everything but the 25 rd. mag. All of her merchandise was priced with nice little stickers. All along the bins were note cards stating that everything was selling at 2TIMES the marked price! TWO TIMES! I don't know how she sold anything at all. No other vendor was that obvious with the gouging.(I didn't price any guns, tho). Unbelievable to me.
I kept walking, and found two brand new in the package S&W 25 rd mags for $35.00 each. BOUGHT THEM! Mission accomplished.
Hopefully the fever will die down soon.

crazed knee jerk reaction buying just like 1994. We have basically one LGS and then the big box stores. Owner of the LGS is refusing to mark up his prices so that is great, but he will be out of stock consistently. around here, they put their friggin little lap dogs in baby strollers and go down the skinny rows!!!!!
Got 3 boxes of SS .22, going out after rabbits again in a couple hrs. lot better than the gun show. Our local one out west that travels is "Murphys" he is notorious for table prices so you have to figure that into product cost to the end user as well.
Hell my LGS just had a HUGE sale on everything in the store, put a Serbu super shorty SG in layaway for $565, just because it was the same price as always, a $5 tax stamp, and will be great for a truck gun. that was the only one i thought they would perm ban just like the street sweeper, should have kept mine, many, many moons ago, but who knew? my stamp collection grows....................................

Went into my LGS about 3 weeks ago and there was a Sport on consignment for 3200. It was "NIB", well said so anyways. I asked if I could inspect it a little, he said sure. So upon inspection of the bolt, you could see remnants of cleaning(not a very good job) and wear on the bolt face. Guess there's a sucker born everyday because last week it was sold.

So glad I stocked up on .45, 5.56 and .22 over a year ago.

It sure is disconcerting reading about the high prices.....makes me consider selling for a huge profit......only I'm afraid we're going to actually NEED it before too long. :(
