Last weekend, Feb 1-2, I attended the Saxet gun show at San Antonio. Lines formed outside the door at least an hour and a half before the doors opened. Lots of plastic pistols and black rifles on display, and HUGE amounts of black rifle parts. They seemed to be moving, if not briskly. All sorts of ammo, too, including lots of steel case 7.62X39. 5.56 was available in quantity also. Although this stuff was selling, didn't see any sign of panic buying.

Little of interest to me on display (I have two Glocks and a Colt M4 carbine and don't need any more). I almos bit on a pre-27, early 50s vintage, 8 3/4 inch barrel, and smooth rosewood grips. Ramp (not Patridge), front sight with white insert. I don't know if the grips were original. Piece looked almost new. He wanted $1450 and wouldn't come down. I really wanted it but passed, probably to my regret.

Didn't find any guns to buy. This is the second gun show I've been skunked. Hope it's not a preview of coming attractions.

My dad and I were there. I picked up a 44 Hand Ejector 2nd model. We saw some cut down 1917's (which is kind of what my dad is looking for). We met some fellow forum members there as well, and had some roasted nuts.

The crowd was very large for that show, but it was not unbearable. I don't really care for the black guns, so the other stuff really didn't interest me.

It was good to finally get to a gun show with my dad again (he just recently moved back here after 5-6 years of being away).

That line out the door, down the building, and two loops of the side parking lot was crazy though.....a nice guy let us form a second line (for folks checking guns) and we got in the show in about 5 minutes.
