I sold a gun on gunbroker last week and checked my feedback today to find the buyer rated me "a little slow in mailing".

The auction ended late sunday night, I didn't receive payment until Saturday (six days later). The guy had the gun in his hands on Thursday (4th business day).

Am I wrong in thinking his feedback is a little out of line, especially considering I'm a individual and not a private shop? I haven't purchased off gunbroker unless it was a FTF transaction so I'm not sure what is typical.

I guess I'm being nitpicky but it bugs me anyways...

After 21 years in the parts business working with the public, I've decided that some folks just can't be made happy. Your turnaround sounds reasonable to me, but it seems most people think that you should wave a wand and it should happen RIGHT THEN. Trust me, I hear that crap every day.

Remember, you are suppose to leave feedback too.

Make yours the second sentence in your original post here.

And you don't have to leave an A+.

in this era of instant everything, including instant gratification, the art of
being patient has been lost

i guess some people are spoiled and expect everything to move fast,
especially for them

in ny, when some one buys a hand gun, it could be a week or two or even
three, just for the paperwork to process, at which time, you can finally
take possession of the gun

(luckily, the long gun process is just a phone call and filling out the form
and out the door)

but....we learn to be patient

especially with on line stuff, there are often lots of details to work out,
which slow things down

if i got a gun in four days from a seller, i would give him an A plus plus!

dont fret about it....you will get better ratings as you go along

Like my pappy use to say, "Some people would complain if you hung 'em with a new rope . . . . "

I like Gun Broker a lot I sell and buy on it all of the time. You can reply to his feedback with the facts.

When the post office is involved things get delayed and their inefficiency can and does cause hard feelings between buyers and sellers.

That feedback is out of line. What grade did he give you? Give him the same grade with the same "a little slow in mailing" comment.

Here is my lastest Post Office mess up. Bought some grips off Ebay. Seller shipped promptly and furnished a tracking number. Post office record show attempted to deliver on 5/20. A Saturday to a business address they deliver to daily. Gates ate locked. Susposely a notice was left with pickup info. No notice found

Monday was Memorial day. Tuesday no deliverys at all. Computer updated to show delvivery made on Tuesday at 11;20. Reveiwed my security camera all day an no postman.
Nothing on Wednesday and finally a delivery on Thursday.

I sure trust your honesty much more that US post office

The last gun I bought the seller left me negative feedback, even though I used the "Buy Now" option, sent him the money the next day, and had to ride him for 3 days after he received the money to get him to send the gun to me.
When I asked him, he said, "Oh, I meant to leave that for another buyer who stiffed me. Sorry."
I added my feedback response that he meant it for another buyer and asked the seller to go in and post an addition to my feedback to explain it, but he didn't.
So after 5 GB purchases I have an 80% rating because the last seller made a mistake.

Thanks for the replies - I was pretty certain he was just being ridiculous. He did give me a A+ though. I have 100% A+ feedback but would hate for someone who views it in detail to get discouraged from buying.

To make it worse, I have other feedback that legitimately claims slow shipping. I used to use a nearby dealer to ship and they would hold on to the gun for almost a week sometimes before sending it out. I now (and did in this case) drive about an hour out of my way for a dealer that's very courteous and gets my guns on the road within 24 hours. It doesn't hurt they have a massive selection for me to look over while the paperwork is being done either ;-)

Anyways I replied to his feedback and will return favor mentioning how long his payment took to get to me.

I haven't had a problem with gun broker. Actually, all my purchases have went very well. Now guns america is a different story for me. My first purchase , paid on monday and had the gun on wensday . Now my second purchase isn't going so well. I made payment on 6-5-09 and have not gotten my gun as of 6-12-09. The seller hasn't returned my emails on shipping conformation yet either.I paid with credit card so i'm not to worried about being ripped off but I really want the gun.If I ever get it , I can't wait to give feed back on this seller.I understand things take time , but I think the seller should at least comunicate with the purchaser until the transaction is complete. I do have his phone # and when I called the guy told me he is to busy to be answering the phone to use his email. The email that he doesn't return. When I called back ,several times , his answering picks up saying to leave a message. I have left several , he still hasn't gotten a hold of me . STILL WAITING.

I feel 7 days is not out of line. I mean if you are not a dealer most people work, have a family and have things to do. IMO i feel 4 days is great but thats just me.

jframe speaks the truth.

I've got well over 200 all A+ feedbacks between AA and GB. Some years back, I won an auction and immediately thereafter sustained water damage to my business(frozen pipes) the same week my Dad had emergency heart bypass surgery. I had my hands full, but kept in contact with the seller so he wouldn't be concerned that he was going to be stiffed. I think it was the better part of two weeks before he got his $$$$ and although he gave me an A+ rating, he felt the need to mention the late payment.

John,
Unlike ebay, Feedback on GB can be EDITED.
I would contact the guy and inform him of that, and more or less demand he fix it. If he did not, you could always edit your FB for him...............
Maybe then he would pay attention to your request.;)

of hateful to me and I wrote him a hateful note back. Then I was reading the note before I posted it and looked down below and read
my saying thats on every post. I deleted the post. Don

I emailed and messaged him about it 3 times, but he hasn't done it even though I see him online in my Yahoo! Messenger every day.
I may try again, but I'm not holding out hope.

ON 6-5 friday ,when I paid , I was told it would be shipped on 6-9 tuesday.By 6-12 ,friday, The seller hadn't confirmed shipment or even answered my email. He is a dealer. I understand things happen but he has other employees to handle his customers. he is in bussiness.Maybe I am wrong ,but i think this is out of line. Just my opinion.

I allways ship the package the day after I get the payment. I do go out of my way to do so sometimes, but figure it's worth it. It would be the same day, but I get my mail after I can get to the PO.

I know what I would feel like if I were at the receiving end. I would want it too. I feel that's it's part of the bargain. Promt Customer Service
