Went to the Greenville, SC gunshow today. Was looking for a fix since I haven't bought a Smith in awhile. Settled on a new/as new 4" 63 (no dash). Pinned barrel. Grips have s/n stamped on inside of right panel. Manufactured in 1978. Came with original box/doc's and tools minus screwdriver.
A good many Smiths for sale. 4"&6" 28's. 3.5"&6" 27's. 624's, 25's, 10's. 19's, 66's and others. One of the better shows here in SC.

drove right thru there today, moving the kid back to Clemson. Told the wife I needed to look for a gunshow in Gville. Then forgot all about it.

Details on the 3 1/2 27?

It is indeed one of the better shows around.

(I was the fat, bald guy wandering around aimlessly.)

SCACA.NET

Still a few more shows this year.

Looked good. 96% or so. In cardboard box. Didn't ask price as I have one.

Next show there in October.

When My daughter was at Clemson I always checked Grady's in Anderson when I went through.

Tried to trade 32 HE for 63

A guy came to our tables this weekend with a 63, 4" pinned, as you discribed but no box. He originally wanted to trade for my 32 HE, post war pre-30. I was working on the trade when he decided he wanted cash instead. $600! Well, I wanted that gun, but not for 6 bills. He left the show with his .22 I think. Oh well. If you are out there and still want to sell let me know.

I've always wanted to go to the Greenville show, but it's a little further than I like to drive. Instead, the wife and I spent all day at a local estate sale (would you believe six and a half hours?). They were auctioning off the entire contents of a 6,000 sq.ft. home. Beautiful stuff! Came home with a Queen Anne table,a Windsor rush-seated rocker (this will be MINE),a pine plantation desk and a Windsor double-seated mahogany bench. I would have been MUCH better off going to the gun show! :(

I missed the show this time around. It is really a good show to see the better vintage firearms. The Browning Hi Power display they had there the last time was very impressive. Hopefully I will make the next show.

I was there on Sunday. Not very many folks at first but it got busy after church hours. It was a fairly good show considering. It's the only gunshow in the world that charges parking fees that I attend. That really pisses me off to have to pay parking. Just another gouge that's making it harder to justify going. The promoter isn't charging the fees, I believe it's the facility.

On a high note, I did see some nice S&W revolvers for sale. There was at least 3 model 27's with 3 1/2 inch barrels. I saw a fairly nice nickel one that the guy said 8 bills. They were wheeling and dealing so the gun could probably have been bought for 725-750. I asked several dealers how the gun sales were and they said it had been slow, not as many sales as they were accustomed to.

I got an early non pinned M63 with matching grips, no box, for $450 at the Reno show. Missed a pinned one N.I.B. for $600. Just wanted a shooter anyway. Big Larry:):):)

Those prices seem to be about right.
I have two m63's, both pinned, used but excellent.
I paid $400 & $500.

My next quest will be for a 2" 63. Unless.............some other Smith comes along and lures me away.
Deer season in here.Already put a 7 pt. in the freezer. Kinda takes the pressure off my Smith quest for the moment.

Greensboro NC charges to park and the Charlotte show at the Merchandise Mart used to charge. People got so pissed they quit going to the Chlt show due to the parking and I think the promoter cut a deal on the parking with the city. They no longer charge for parking there.

The Charlotte show at the Metrolina Fair Grounds is a poor second choice to the show in Greenville SC. The drive is 60 miles longer to the Greenville SC show but it is worth the drive.

bnz43, I have been to the show at Metrolina 5 or 6 times. I always thought it was at least the equal of the Gville show if not better. Different strokes...

The Metrolina show is ok. The one at the Merchandise mart on Independence blvd is pretty bad.

I have only been to one Gvl show and it was a good one.
