H&K SP5

Although I've been tempted many times never scratched the PCC itch.
A while back saw this review and found it very informative
Showdown! Best PCC?? MPX vs CZ Scorpion vs Colt-Pattern 9mm vs MP5 - YouTube

The Colt SMG has been a failure throughout its history, and there is a reason why it was never fully embraced. The MP5 has outlasted everything, including H&K's attempts to destroy their own legacy products to promote their new garbage.

The delayed roller's drawbacks are minimized in a pistol cartridge gun, and the flaws of gas guns are maximized. The idea that Colt pattern 9mm competes with the MP5 is an insult.

The FOPA of 1986 with the added Hughes Amendment wasn't a good deal for gun owners. Worse, it was done as an 11th hour addition with virtually no committee discussion and very rapid implementation. The president at the time was pro law enforcement, but he was in no way pro gun. People remember that wrong.

Which was the lead in to the ban went into effect and prices sky rocketed before I turned 21 and would have been able to purchase a full auto capable firearm in my state.

Mine is also semi-auto since the full auto sears make the price truly insane.

Had we only known then. Found this receipt for a M16 online a few years ago.

Guy on the Haley forum bought a HK auto sear a few years ago for over $30K. No telling what their going for no days. Be hard to pay that amount for something so small. The pic isn't of his. Just one I found.

Agreed.

The only potential advantage I give to my Colt 6450 over my MP5 is 4" versus 12" accuracy at 200 yards. But any use of a 9mm SMG or carbine past 100 yards is a very infrequently used fringe capability.

I'm most confused. Your MKE only has a 4" barrel?

I thought those had almost the same size barrel as the SP5...8.8"

USPS tracking said it would be here today by 9pm. My local shop closes at 3 on Saturday, so I figured I'd get it Monday.

Got up around 11 and checked the tracking and they had it. Was most too happy.

Finished my eForm 1 and submitted it, Monday I'll drive over to the LEO office that does prints, and then off to the post office to mail them in.

Most I ever spent on a gun in my life. Two extra 30 round mags cost me $178. HK is really proud of their stuff!

It will look like this when my stamp arrives. Was back and forth on the full stock or retractable one. The retractable one would be most handy and fit in the fancy HK case, but I love the classic looks of the full stock best.

No. My Colt 6450 and my 8.3" barrel AR 9mm braced pistol both shoot 4" groups at 200 yards, compared to 12" groups for my braced 8.8" barrel AP5.

8-9" barrel length is optimum for 9mm in an SMG.

Regarding stocks, in my experience the A2 stock as you have pictured has the best ergonomics, best cheek weld and sight alignment. The retracting stock looks cool, that's about it. Best compromise is the B&T folding stock which keeps the good ergos but makes transport easier. I have all three and use the B&T most often.

BTW, with the fixed stock, the gun will fit in the H&K case.

Submitted my eForm 1 on April first to SBR my HK SP5. Checked my email this morning and there it was. Total wait time 11 days!

Back in 2020 I did 3 eForm 1's. The first took 23 days, sent the second 2 in a few weeks later and got them back in 17 days.

It was kinda CooL before, but it is COOL in quantities of GREAT multitudes now.
