I took my 4006tsw out for my first time. My friends at work said a .40 was going to sting my hands, I guess having a light Glock has its disadvantages! I loved mine. It felt very good in my hands, I could shoot it all day. I enjoyed shattering the pieces of a toilet that someone else left behind. (I cleaned up better than I found the place). My slide did stay open durring my first five rounds. I hit the release and continued to shoot 100 rounds without a problem. Anyone have that happen?

The slide lock lever on S&W semi autos before the Sigma is pretty large. That's great in some ways, but not so much in other ways.

If you shoot with your support hand thumb along the side of the frame, it will probably be just under the slide lock. If your thumb puts any noticeable upward pressure on it, it will stop the slide cold and lock it open.

Of course! That didn't even occur to me. I do remember placing my fingers next to the slide lock lever. That must be what happened. Lesson learned! Thanks!
