Had an enlightening "chat" with an anti today

OK I am an atheist to. But I do love and own guns. I like Christmas very much.
Beside that I really do think that everybody is free to what kind of religion they believe in.
As far we can live in Peace.

Have a nice Christmas everybody. For me it is to have a good time with my beloved family.

Hope this isn't off topic.

I always get the antis by stating that as an Army veteran I found the Amy did-and still does-a poor job of training people with firearms.

If the devine writings are true, and I believe they are, it is my hope that all Atheists will inherit this planet as promised.

Anytime I encounter a uninformed Moonbat I usually tell them that quoting another person's opinion doesn't make it a fact. If they are not willing to research both sides of an issue then their "facts" don't matter to me.

One of my favorite quotes...

"Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts." --Daniel Patrick Moynihan

Ok guys, I think somebody needs to come to Arik's defense here. I happen to be a Christian. But I know people with a wide variety of beliefs. Heck I've been to a Wiccan wedding. So I think its wrong to hold anyones religion or lack thereof against them.

However, in this case I think the woman was just out to cause a stir to begin with. When her attempt to preach anti-gun fell on its face, I think she threw the atheist thing out there just to draw attention back to herself. I think she knew all too well the kind of reaction she would get with the group in attendence. There are some people who feel the need to be in the center and push their views on others.
It would be sad if it wasn't so pathetic.

Anyway back on topic, I think the OP handled it quite well. :D

Very well handled sir. It always amazes me how most of the anti gun crowd know little to nothing about the subject!

I have a brother like this. He loves to argue, and will make provocative statements to me that he knows are guaranteed to get a rise out of me, just so he can argue and expend some energy. I don't understand that, but it is what it is.

Well........that's what happens when cousins marry.

Actually the problems with cousins marrying is overblown. All that does is intensify the genetic traits, which means if there are good genetic traits they will most likely be passed on. The only problem comes in when there are bad genetic traits that get intensified.

So if there is a tendency towards insanity, retardation, or other negative genetic traits, then such a marriage would indeed carry a higher possibility of being problematic. However if both carry positive genes such as high intelligence, good physical build, high metabolism and energy, soundness of mind and emotional stability, then those traits would be strengthened.

Of course too much close marriages will eventually lead to problems, but a little of that in good gene pools is actually helpful, as anyone that breeds dogs, horses, or cows can tell you.

Several of our past presidents married their first cousins. Once it gets to second cousins, or first cousins twice removed the danger is non-existent. However some states actually have laws against first cousins marrying. Of course some states have laws against high capacity magazines also.

Or one of my personal faves...

Don't let facts get in the way of a good, biased opinion.

One of my favorite quotes, "How come there are no athesists in a foxhole?"

All kidding aside, this is exactly what an anti would like to see. Those of us that are PRO gun deflecting our attention to the discussion of whether there is a God or not instead of keeping on topic which is gun control.

If the antis can get us (assuming that most folks subscribed here are gun folk) to fight among ourselves, then they have truly won a battle in this war.
