Had an enlightening "chat" with an anti today

I have found that wasting my time arguing with people who are entitled to, but not qualified to have, an opinion on any subject, it sure to irritate me. All it does is generate heat, not light. The gun issue is a prime example.

...If the antis can get us (assuming that most folks subscribed here are gun folk) to fight among ourselves, then they have truly won a battle in this war.

The antis have been doing that for years, successfully pitting various segments of the gun-owning community against each other.

I know hunters who maintain -- right out of the Bloomberg playbook -- that nobody 'needs' an AR or AK. There are competitive target shooters who don't care at all about the right-to-carry. There are self-defense advocates who pay no attention to laws that affect hunters, etc., etc.

We are all in this together. The Bloombergs and Sarah Bradys of this world see no difference between a 1911, a Winchester 94, an AR-15, or Mossberg 500. All they know about guns is that guns go bang and they don't like them, and their agenda is to outlaw and eliminate the private ownership of firearms. All firearms. Mine. Yours. His. Hers. The sooner we realize that, and start to act as a unified community, the better off we'll all be.

My first thought when reading the title to this thread was that it is an oxymoron.

Being "enlightened" implies being the recipient of some truth or facts.

The ANTI crowd neither has nor disseminates either of these.

Or one of my personal faves...

Don't let facts get in the way of a good, biased opinion.

Best.

Logic.

Ever.
