Handejector,

I am fairly new to this forum. I have a Smith & Wesson Model #3 American, made in 1873. I know this because I learned it on this forum. It was my Great Granddaddy's gun. It is the only thing I have of his. No pictures, letters, anything else. When I hold it, I know he held it, and I feel more complete.

I want to thank you for teaching me, and all those who teach me, with this forum format. Everyone seems genuinely interested in helping me learn. I am a student of history. There is much to learn here. Again, thank you. God Bless America.

I will agree with thanking all of the participants in this forum. I have learned a great deal here, BUT I will warn all of you who don't know.

This place is expensive. When I first came here I had 3 S&W revolvers and was perfectly happy.

Since being on here the temptations have increased many times over and I now have over a dozen S&W's and some of them ain't cheap

BE WARNED!!!

Hahaha, I think ANY gun forum ends up costing you money. For instance, I'm on the Sigarms556.com forum and there's plenty of things there to grab your money, even if you're not trying to be "tacti-cool"

Well Iggy

I am a prime example of finding out about
what I did not know I had to have on this
amazing site.
I will not consider how much it has cost.

Don't want to ruin the surprise!

Lee is doing us all a great favor in keeping this site going. It is a whole lot of work . . . more money than I'm sure he imagined . . . and there's no money in it. As a matter of fact, I strongly suspect it is taking away from his time he was spending both with his family, with his business AND with his time to both shoot and collect.

I appreciate what he's doing more than he'll ever know!

I also think he has been a breath of fresh air since taking over from a previous outstanding owner who had reached the burnout point and needed to step away from it all, lest it destroy his joy of our wonderful sport.

Great job Lee . . . and I also appreciate all the efforts of the former owner too. As a former moderator of a large forum (and one near the burnout phase), I understand what you are going through . . . and you are doing a wonderful job.

+1 on Lee doiing a fine job, and offering a genuine service to the gunhobbyist community.
I'm reminded of an old saying: If you always tell the truth, you never have to try and remember what you told folks.

If we are all going to get all huggy and kissie then I guess I will admit that I like ya'll also. I get lots of great answers to my questions from many different topics. Thanks to Lee and all the forum members that help make this a great place to chat.

Thank you all for the kind words, and the votes of confidence.
I do appreciate it.

O GAWD-don't tell me we're heading towards one of those group hug threads! man I hate those-takes up valuable bandwidth more properly used for cutting edge humor, rapier wit and razor sharp reparte'.

Cajunlawyer,

if you are going to use 2dollar Yankee words and I-talian lingo, I'll just stay quiet. Nobody likes a showoff!

.Lee has done a great job here, he hasn't done anything that some hasn't asked for

. When they ask to have thier corn flakes wetted down, he is more than happy to help them out. Lee is a fine up standing man, great to deal with, and for some reason he is alway HAPPY

If you'll read his Barbecue Rib recipe, it'll become abundantly clear why he's always happy!

Being of Italian descent, I would like to point out that "Reparte'", is to the best of my knowledge, French.

Oh yeah, I appreciate all the stuff I learn from youse guys too! (now THAT'S Italian!

Wheelgunner840,

my deepest apologies, it was a feeble attempt at humor. No offense was meant, I assure you.

The only other gentleman from Chicago I have ever known, was 'Dutch' Schultz. But, that was 69-70, in boot camp and AE school.

Easy, guys.. I put my pants on just like the rest of you -- one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I make gold records. Alright, here we go. "Fear... Don't Fear the Reaper" -- take one. Roll it!

Absolutely no reason whatsoever to be apologizing for anything. We are all just having some fun here. I wasn't bothered by what you posted in the least (except for the possible connection to France!

I make fun of myself a heck of a lot more than others do. so as posted above, fuggedaboutit!
