Happiness is a new weed eater....eventually.

Count me in with those who hate yard work. (key word there: work.) But I have it better than most of you guys when it comes to small yard equipment. I have a close friend who haunts garage sales in the Ft. Worth area, and buys a lot of high quality weedeaters, blowers, trimmers and the like. He will clean them up, put in a new plug, fresh gas, gets them running, then drains the gas and puts it in his shed. I bet he has 20 weedeaters, all of them Echo or Stihl. He puts a head on them that uses pre cut lengths of line, you can use really heavy line. and just replace them as you need. No messing with heads with tangled line that won't advance. I don't have a problem with putting a bottle of 2 stroke oil in a can before putting gas in it. Use the oil that has a stabilizer in it, and you won't have problems with gas. Quality equipment equals less hassles. May buddy sold me a like new Echo for $30. (because I wouldn't let me give it to me.) Cheap made lawn stuff is just like cheap made revolvers. Get the good stuff, it's worth it.

My first weed wacker was a Homelite I bought in the late 60's it came with two steel blades one for grass and one for brush, you had to be very careful using it you couldn't cut close to anything hard like the foundation of you house or fence posts, my first string wacker was a ECHO which I had for years, my son is still using it.

you know, i bot one of those silly things. wasn't much fun to use, but i didn't want snakes to have cover to come get me. i prefer to shoot them when they are far away.
one day, after working myself into exhaustion i looked across the fence at the neighbor's cows munching away.
then, i got smart.
i went n opened the gate.
the cows ambled in n eliminated the tall grasses while i relaxed.
the cows had fun, i had fun n the job got done.
smart beats hard work every time.
