My 90 year old dad and former B-17 pilot finally gave me the 1944 M1 Carbine we bought through the NRA in 1963.

He'd forgotten that I mowed yards to raise the $25 it cost back then, and I wasn't about to remind him all these years.

As good of a Bday present as I've ever gotten!

What great gift to get from your Dad. Congratulations - that is a nice one.

My only carbine is a raggedy Standard Products from Blue Sky - but it sure is fun to shoot.

What timing I just finished cleaning and putting together a mixmaster that has a Rock-ola reciever S'G' bbl. ,Std Prod stock and Inland trigger group.slide and bolt that I picked up for $350.00. I had the stock already the only part's I didn't have was a front band spring and a recoil plate screw.
So it looks like sunday morning I'll be taking it to the range with it's older brother a all correct 9/43 Inland .:D

My uncle, a B-17 tail-gunner and his buddy the belly gunner just returned from honor flight to Washington, D.C.. Sore neck and sore hands from thousand or more who met the plane to hug and shake hands with the group.
Consider your Dad's hand shook by me.

Thank you, gentlemen, I'll relay your thanks over lunch tomorrow.

He's a dust bowl Okie that survived the Great Depression and WWII.

With no college education he worked (note that word) his way to the position of President of a small, local bank.

Old school, straight shooter whose word has always been his bond.

He's still barking orders, and I address him with respect.

Most honest man I've ever known.
