I saw a dvd set for sale at Walmart for the entire series which I think is between 91-101 episodes? for $20. I havent bought it yet but, I was wondering if anyone here has heard of and seen it and what they thought of it?

Its stars were: Pat Conway and Richard Eastham.

BTW, he was a Marine and served in Nam according to the internet:

I remember it, but not that much anymore. I was about 5 years old when it was on, along with the other various TV Westerns in the 60's... Wagon Train, The Rifleman, etc. It was one that I remember watching regularly, but this aging memory can't recall the details of the show.

If the boxed set is around 100 episodes it must of not have been that bad of a series to have lasted that long... I'd buy it.

Many thanks, I think I will since I have to go there anyway sometime today. I wish season 3 of Bat Masterson was out? ive grown to really like that series too.

I think I liked it as a kid. I sort of recall the theme music.

I watched about all of the Westerns and stuff like Yancy Derringer, which I think was set in New Orleans. The title character had a Sharp's four-barrel derringer.

I was also big on the private eye shows and liked Ramar of the Jungle, Jungle Jim, Lives of the Bengal Lancers, and Soldiers of Fortune.

The last starred John Russell, who later had the title role in, Lawman.

I don't believe that Leonard Nimoy was a Marine in Vietnam. I watched Star Trek when it came on in 1966, before Vietnam heated up, and he was already on the show. Also, he had been around awhile in Hollywood, playing bit roles. I saw him once on, Dragnet, as a bad guy.
Never saw him as an Indian before, though.

Finally, from what I know of him, he would not have been patriotic enough or politically inclined to support the US war in Vietnam or to serve in the military at all. I have other reasons to think him a typical liberal, but they can't be voiced on this board.

I'm vaguely remember it coming on as a small kid. Truthfully I don't remember anything about it though. I think I was somewhere between 4 and six at the time. But my parents seemed to like it.

"Whistle me a tune, whistle me back to Tombstone territory"
I remember this 30min western. It was no better, or worst than all the other westerns of this era. Pat Conway wore a "Town outfit" (fancy) while "Marshalling in town, and a "Trail Outfit" when chasing "Bad Guys" out on the trail. Two Gun Marshall.

Late 50s Western. I loved those old shows and still do:
Rifleman
Have Gun Will Travel
Lawman
The Rebel
Wanted: Dead or Alive (Steve McQueen)
Cheyenne
Sugarfoot (a spinoff of Cheyenne)
Death Valley Days
Wells Fargo
Bronco
Cisco Kid
Annie Oakley
Wyatt Earp
Colt .45
Maverick
Wagon Train
Derringer
Gunsmoke (started in mid 50s, ran for almost 20 years)

That's all I can remember. I'm sure there were more.

Bonanza, Rawhide, Big Valley, The Virginian were (mostly) from the 60s.

Loved them all.

On the Nam thing. I meant Pat Conway, not Nimoy. :-))

How about one named (possibly) "Tombstone Epitaph"=about John Clum?

Memory is VERY hazy!

I havent heard of it I dont believe? Ill have to look around this afternoon when I get back from Academy.

Remember it well, watched it every week. It was on ABC but I don't recall what night.

I wish tv were still that good now. Last time I remember the networks having a great week line up--was in the 80s.

I hope the Dvd quality is decent? However, what I watched in your posted link looks like ill enjoy the show. I already like the theme to it. Also, it kind of reminds me about Tales of Wells Fargo--which I do like and will be collecting more seasons of it too.
My big brother wasn't into westerns, but my mom took him around the corner fro our house to the opening of a new Wells Fargo bank in Hayward, Ca. Dale Robertson was there and my brother got to shake his hand. When I grew up past my drooling stage and liked westerns on TV I heard about him meeting "Jim Hardy". Man, was I mad.

Im slowly collecting the Westerns trying not to dip into my gun buying funds. Ive got the complete Wanted Dead or Alive, almost complete Bat Masterson, but only season one of several others. I get all these-with 2-3 modern exceptions, im done w/ new programs.
