Has anyone used the RCBS Model 1010 Reloading Scale

I have a 5-10. It's basically the same scale, but with a different base. It's very accurate, but I'd go with the 505 over the 10-10 or 5-10. It's faster and easier to use.

The RCBS 10-10 is the top of the line balance scale and I've had one for years. They're made for RCBS by Ohaus. I tend to use my 5-10 more often because it's just as accurate and I leave it set up. The 10-10 offers additional capacity with its auxiliary weight and is safer to transport because of the way everything locks down under the plastic cover. I also have an RCBS electronic scale, but prefer the balance type because they don’t need batteries or go bad.
Over the years, I managed to pick up a spare 10-10 that I recently put on ebay. It was like new and brought just over $100, so they're not cheap. New ones at Sinclair are over $150. Unless you travel with it or need to weigh things over 510gr, I suggest getting a clean used 5-10 instead.

I've got one about a 1000 years old tucked away in my stash.....went to electronic scales sometime in the 1980s and never looked back.

I have one and didn't think it was was as accurate as I would have liked. One major problem was that the witness line was much too broad to get closer to the desired weight than a few tenths. I sent the scale to the guy in California who reworks them and the improvement was considerable. The scale is more sensitive and yes, he replaced the witness line.
I bought an A&D milligram scale which is stable and very accurate. The RCBS 1010 now gives fairly comparable readings.

I have two beam scales that are way MORE accurate than the 5-0-5 or 10-10 or anything else out there. They are not available any longer new but can be had on the used market.

I think the 10-10 is probably more expensive than what is justified by better results. The 505 is sufficient for most needs a reloader has and it's only about $80 new. My 505 is actually branded Ohaus instead of RCBS and I've used it since 1973. It still weighs accurately when compared to an electronic 1 mg (.015 gr) scale. I do use an electronic scale for most purposes now, but it cost twice what a 505 does.
