Has the AR craze died down a little?

Dealers are receiving, and will continue to receive, some shipments as the various factory brands try to catch up. All the distributors I deal with are sold out and most if not all incoming shipments are already earmarked for waiting dealers. Last week, when I placed a factory direct order, I was told 6-8 months for the common AR models and one year or longer for the specialty models with a guaranteed accuracy.

these poeopl up till 6 months ago were in the ' Rail" accessory business..

I just came from Sportsmans Warehouse which is where most of the "average Joe" types go to buy guns or ammo. Long gun racks, normally full, were about half empty or less. The handgun rack had about 70% fewer guns than normal, and ammunition shelves were darn near empty. Even a lot of the holsters were gone and I don't think they have received any new holsters in a long time. They may be using all their cash reserves just to buy guns.
