Has the Governor been "impeached?"

The only issue I've had with my Governor

I was an early poster re the then new Governor. I bought mine because it could share the >250 loaded moonclips of homebrew 230gr FMJ .45 ACP ammo, which otherwise only fit my 625JM. The Governor was ~1" longer and a bit less costly than the then soon to be canned 325NG. It was bought as a bedside protector - and tested with 250gr GDJHP .45 Colt, which hit coincident POI/POA at 7 yd - as did the aforementioned .45 ACP ball ammo. In it's first two weeks of ownership I bought two boxes of birdshot and one of PDXI .410 ammo - and still have a round or two of that SD ammo left. For my use it works well - and it was economical - then.

I shot some Fiocchi #7, the shells lodged in the cylinders. I've had no problems with any of the defensive rounds.

I don't own a Governor. I've never even shot one. But I love Governor threads and may buy one and post some pictures just to enjoy the massive panty-bunching that is sure to follow!

I stumbled across a used blued Governor and was really impressed with the action and lockup. It went home with me immediately. With Ultramax .45 Colt loads shooting two-handed single action I could tear the center out of a paper target at 7 yards. I posted the target under the self defense thread. I was so impressed that when I recently stumbled across a new Governor in stainless finish it went home with me too.

Another Governor thread? Already?
I don't think it's a bad revolver, just never understood the appeal of .410 out of a short barrel for self defense when there's so many other options available. If I owned one I would load it with Buffalo Bore's JHP .45 Colt load made to expand at low velocities.

Back to the original question, I just saw one in a local shop last week, next to a couple of Bond Arms Snake Slayers. I was more interested in the 99% nickel Model 19 on the other counter, though....

If you are wanting a governor and have trouble finding one simply order it from gallery of guns and pick up at an FFL. That's exactly what I did and you get their warranty on top of Smith's for free.

That is wrong. It does 45LC amazingly. Nail driver.
