I feel the same pain. I'm having the same problem. I only have 50 rounds left of 9mm and can't find anyplace that has it in stock. Have myself set up for emails when they come in. But I'm still waiting.

If it helps and depending on what you use; Cabelas, Academy, Gander, Bass Pro, PSA, etc offer 9mm fmj ammo from $12-14 a box and most have cheap to free ship.

Thanks, I should have said for EDC. I have practice ammo that I do pick up online, for the range, and at a couple of the above mentioned stores. I usually carry Speer Gold Dot 124 grain. But I went on a shooting spree and used them up. :o Now I'm finding they are a little hard to come by.

Got me too... I was thinking, Wow a Shield?

Try Ammoman.com and targetsportsusa.com they got lots.

Love my .40 and 9mm shield. Except for quick mag replacement at times...I can get a good pinch in my palm from slamming the mag home.

Yeah... These Shields can be little piggies when it comes to devouring your ammo. :)
Before you know it... It's gone.
Maybe it's time to STOP using your UpLula! (so it slows down loading) :D

Yea the Shield loves to eat and the Uplula feeds it habit too easy :O

Too funny, just bought one today and was thinking did I make a mistake.

I really wish I could order ammo online up here. I'm missing out. And my shield 9 loves everything.

You need to start learning how to "roll your own". Get a reloading book and start learning how to reload all that brass you shot. Save the serious "social work" ammo for EDC and use reloads for practice. Excluding the initial cost of brass, my reloads average about 11 cents a round.

Mine sucks too. For all the same reasons.

Accurate, not picky at all about ammo, easy to conceal, shoots like a bigger gun...it's stupid. I hate it.
:D

For S. D. ammo don't over look Federal's HST line.

Freedom Munitions has free shipping on orders over $100 today. Usually has plenty of new 9mm. Haven't had a bad round from them yet.

Also Freedom has FREE shipping to all new customers :) I am looking to get 1000 rounds of 9mm and 500 .357 :O I have alittle more shooting to do :)

Thanks everyone for your comments,, :) That Shield is sweet and I still can not believe how smooth it shoots, Like shooting my SR9 but way lighter lol

Just for what it's worth, another bad thing about the Shield is that you've got such a nice little gun, but nobody even notices it when you're carrying it around. The neighbors won't be impressed like if you rolled up in the drive in a new Vette.

Must admit "Hate my Shield" got to me as I had just ordered one from Bud's Guns. I decided to get a Shield because it's light and skinny, attributes that my EDC SP101 lacks. I feel better now (after reading all the posts).

I use Freedom Munitions 9mm 124 gr. RN Reman
They usually have free shipping on major holidays, like this one, July 4.

Maybe it's bad in that it makes you not like any other pistols? LOL. I've yet to shoot one but it's hard to deny the popularity of them. My friend has one and I should ask him to go shooting with me.

I'm another that got suckered by the title. I really thought it was going to be a first time poster glock fanboi trying drum up business for the 43.

Yes! They certainly eat up a lot of rds. quickly!
I just had to order another 500 for my hungry Shield.

JChapman13, thanks for the tip on Freedom Munitions. got free shipping (first time customer) on a box of 250 RN Reman 115gr. Was going to order 124gr but it slipped my mind (actually, I've noticed lots of things slip my mind of late). Did make a mistake ordering the 115gr?

I though the title would suck in a few lol. don't shoot me for being a butthead lol....Had to laugh and a lot of the replies :) ..I am planning on getting 1000 rounds of 9mm and 500 .357 fro, Freedom. Free shipping this weekend or first time buyer as mentioned,, I read enough here and another forum about Freedom being good ammo. So Ill give it a shot :O
As for the Shield Love it and it is my first S&W I will be looking at the full size M&P soon :)

Five inch Pro series seemed the natural progression carry gun >> house gun. But the field is wide open.

Federal American Eagle .40s&W Fmj 180gr

Has anyone used 180gr in their .40 cal shield? Is it a safe grain for break-in/plinking/just shooting? Saw some on sale and was contemplating trying them in my shield and/or SD40VE.

180's will work fine in your Shield, and SD40VE, I prefer the 165 gr bullets for target work, and also for CCW.
