HATE my Shield

I use Freedom Munitions 9mm 124 gr. RN Reman
They usually have free shipping on major holidays, like this one, July 4.

Maybe it's bad in that it makes you not like any other pistols? LOL. I've yet to shoot one but it's hard to deny the popularity of them. My friend has one and I should ask him to go shooting with me.

I'm another that got suckered by the title. I really thought it was going to be a first time poster glock fanboi trying drum up business for the 43.

Yea I said it I hate my new 9mm Shield! :rolleyes:It seems it like any ammo I feed it . It seems to disappear on me :rolleyes:and I used to have 450 rounds of 9mm, I now have 100 rounds left and it has been alittle over a week since I got it  Bad Shield bad bad Shield :D
I am still amazed how smooth it shoot for a small gun :)

Yes! They certainly eat up a lot of rds. quickly!
I just had to order another 500 for my hungry Shield.

JChapman13, thanks for the tip on Freedom Munitions. got free shipping (first time customer) on a box of 250 RN Reman 115gr. Was going to order 124gr but it slipped my mind (actually, I've noticed lots of things slip my mind of late). Did make a mistake ordering the 115gr?

I though the title would suck in a few lol. don't shoot me for being a butthead lol....Had to laugh and a lot of the replies :) ..I am planning on getting 1000 rounds of 9mm and 500 .357 fro, Freedom. Free shipping this weekend or first time buyer as mentioned,, I read enough here and another forum about Freedom being good ammo. So Ill give it a shot :O
As for the Shield Love it and it is my first S&W I will be looking at the full size M&P soon :)

Five inch Pro series seemed the natural progression carry gun >> house gun. But the field is wide open.

Federal American Eagle .40s&W Fmj 180gr

Has anyone used 180gr in their .40 cal shield? Is it a safe grain for break-in/plinking/just shooting? Saw some on sale and was contemplating trying them in my shield and/or SD40VE.

180's will work fine in your Shield, and SD40VE, I prefer the 165 gr bullets for target work, and also for CCW.

My Shield just made me order 500 9mm rounds
of 115 gr FML and 500 rounds of 124 HP from Freedom! Never used Freedom before but they had FREE shipping this weekend  Bad Shield  for making me buy more ammo and my SR9E joined in to make me do it  Oh what am I to do with these two ?

What, if any, are the differences between using 115gr. vs. 124gr. in a Shield? I would assume velocity (fps) is a bit higher with the lighter bullet, but is that the only difference? No effect on cycling the action? On recoil?

Great question. I really do not know! But the 124 gr are the hollow points so I wanted to use a heavier bullet! and to feel the difference.. So far all I have shot in my Shield and SR9 have been 115 gr JHP.. I did shoot some Critical defense in the SR. but on a few 9mm rounds that posted muzzle velocity the aa5 was a bit higher! I really do not think I will notice a big difference.

Freedom Munitions has free shipping on orders over $100 today. Usually has plenty of new 9mm. Haven't had a bad round from them yet.

Yep. This is now my source for practice ammo. Price (even with shipping) is actually a bit lower than buying at Walmart and you have options (115, 124, 147, new, reman, etc). Orders usually ship out the same day as placed and arrive in a few days. I've ordered twice and have been pleased. Quality seems very good so far.

Back to the thread. The Shield is a great little gun. I have probably 800-1000 rounds through mine without a single issue.
