Have I finally come around??

OK, so I'm typically of the sort that "everything" today is way more expensive than it should be...…..especially new Smith and Wessons! However, I was in my local shop this morning and saw a new (with the lock anyway) Model 17. The bluing was beautiful, the stocks were beautiful and...……..I thought it was a decent "bargain" at $670. I didn't buy it........yet! Somehow I thought that was a decent price, not a great price, but a really nice new M17 with great blue, etc...…. So, my questions: have I simply, finally acclimated to todays prices, was I just in a "mood" or was this actually a decent price for a gorgeous '17.....lock not withstanding? What say thee?

My point of reference is how many hours did you need to work "back then" to buy something, vs today.

How long would it take you to make one of those yourself? I'm guessing a lot more than 3 hours. The $670 is a pretty good price on a new, any larger than J frame revo around here. I would run back and grab that one before someone else does!

In my world people who make over $200 an hour don't go online and quibble over the cost of a $700 gun, nor do they disclose their income. But that's in my world.
