For sure it def does that. That's I very likely why I will get. To reduce recoil by 74% and allows me to double tap quickly in Production 3 gun.

it certainly doesn't quench flame.
There is another that won a shoot out the last test but only by 1%

If it is what you end up with post some feed back, just be sure to wear some full wrap eye protection. My google search for reviews between the M4-72 and the Lantec dragon (the device i'm leaning towards) came up with a lot of negative feed back on the m4-72. And I'm referring only to how harsh it is on the shooter and any spectators, not how well it performs keeping the muzzle down. As far as that it's top notch.

If your doing three gun it doesn't look like there is anything better, I just can't get over the blow back. Look at how far back on the front of this guys rifle is getting coated.

I hope by next week ill be able to install it. Anything that can reduce recoil by 75% is on my list as awesome. Since I get shooting bay to myself I don't really care much about my range neighbors. I noticed on video talked about clearing a hallway with an AR as home defense....Not sure if the AR is the right tool for me. I use a shot gun or pistol.
 
Aggressive brakes like that usually perform real well. I don't have the M4-72 but I do have an APA Little ******* designed with ports that angle back about the same on my .308. Tested one of the best performers as well as one of loudest and obnoxious to bystanders. Ain't no free lunch with brakes.

If you get around to installing a free float handguard, one thing to consider is an adjustable gas block to reduce felt recoil. I don't have a Sport like you, but my primary AR has a 16in barrel and carbine gas system like the Sport. Adjustable gas block made a big difference.

I've got the Lantac on my primary AR. Works well. I'd buy it again.

Primary Arms just had them on sale over the 4th. $89 IIRC.

100 reviews. Almost all 5 stars.

I saw the sale, and as luck would have we are on vacation and wouldn't be home to grab the package.

I did grab a Geissele Super charging handle that was back ordered, I get the sale price and we will be back before It gets shipped.

I see a couple used in the $50 range and might jump on one of those deals. I can't see how a muzzle device would be much of a wear item?

Muzzle devices are wear items. Wear and effect on performance would depend on design, materials, round count and barrel length. What that formula specifically measures on a particular brake I have no idea. I probably wouldn't try to save a buck buying one from a guy who used it on a select fire SBR with 30k rounds through it, but from average Joe AR absent boogered threads I'd think it would be fine.

Homework and balancing compromises to select the muzzle device that best fits the purpose is the important part. Trying to save a buck on a muzzle device that isn't the one you really want isn't the way to go...

Controlled pairs are certainly helped by muzzle brakes, but technique is more important.

What you want more than recoil reduction is muzzle rise reduction. A couple ports on top of the muzzle device help tremendously.

Even so, I can put two rounds within an inch of each other at 25 yards or less, in less than half a second or so, with just a cheap muzzle brake like the Miculek design.

I'm sure it does.
Reduced recoil = reduced muzzle rise.

Because the shooter is holding the rifle below the centerline of the bore, recoil results in the muzzle rotating up. If the grip was above the bore the muzzle would rotate down.

It has arrived but I've been in Comifornia with my girls for the past week on vacation.

Ill install tomorrow night and hopefully test it out Saturday morning.

I also bough the PA washer set. Hopefully it works well and I can time it correctly

Ill be shooting M193.

Take your time, I think I hurried when putting my Lantac Dragon on and my crush washer snapped in half right at the correct timing spot. I ordered replacements so now I have to wait until this weekend to go try mine out.
 
Its on

I couldn't wait for the weekend so I installed and went to the desert and fired off about 150 rounds.

Installation is a breeze, the accuwasher system is perfect. Directions are simple and I think anyone can do it easily. Short of explaining it, you can watch a you tube video.

1. Its unreal, the recoil, or lack thereof, using M193, is all but gone. Its very fair to say its no greater than a 22LR out of any rifle. I'll just say its gone. Double taps are spot on, this weekend Ill put some on paper to 25 yards from a standing position and doing some EL presidente drills.

2. Concussion is there. I have zero problem with it. I do shoot competitively and I am use to it. To me it feels good LOL. No doubt the blast is there and is being used to make you better shooter. The fact the M4-72 makes you a better shooter/shot negates any of it. Yes there is warm breeze that you feel each and every time you shoot.

3. Flash, I never noticed it when I shot it. I let some guys shoot it and did notice it when they shot it but it would maybe flash 1 out of every 5 shots AND you have to look for it. I guess in low light you will notice it more but I don't use it at night. Heck, even the A2 Birdcage give off flash depending on conditions.

4. Noise, its louder than say a standard AR, but if someone is shooting a 308 or 44 magnum etc next to you. Its roughly the same. I guess the best way to say it is "its different" not BAD, just different.

My Platform:
MP15 Sport II, Milspec type trigger, polished, Damage Industries enhanced recoil buffer spring SW factory buffer. Polished slides on BC, Magpul Mlok furniture and MIAD grip, extended mag release, Magpul BAD lever, AIMPOINT PRO. Magpul angled fore grip.

If there were two things I would pay for to make me a better shooter on the SW MP15 platform it would be trigger and the M4-72. It is 100% worth every dime, roughly 120.00 out the door. It makes shooting easy, comfortable, and more fun. Its like going from a stock muffler to flowmasters. The sound is boss like. When you shoot everyone near you will no you're different by the sound you make and the holes on the paper you shoot.
