Headin' on up to the soon-to-be home place up in Texoma land in the AM. Be back Sunday night . Plan to over eat and watch too much football. Might even have a beer or two. :ac550:. I'll be a thinkin' about y'all and hopin' yer havin' a good one.

Had a twice great aunt in Madill, OK when I was a kid. Nice little town that advertised itself as "in the arms of Lake Texoma." I remember being terrified once when I was little. We crossed the bridge over the lake when the lake was at flood stage. Water was lapping over the sides of the bridge. The big fishery in those days was for sandies (white bass).

We spent many days at Lake Texoma, first camping at Rock Creek and then kept a RV at Little Glasses resort. My wife got her picture in the Madill paper twice, once with a big Black Bass and once with a Striper. It was amazing to see the boats converge on a large bunch of surfacing Sand Bass. A Golly Whopper was the killer bait. It was a oval shaped float with two feathered hooks behind it. That is when my wife learned to unhook fish. I wasn't getting to fish for unhooking hers.
