Spectacular rendition!

With the number of people involved (musicians, singers, audio {the person running the monitor desk certainly earned their keep} /lighting/video crews, instrument techs, gaffers, roadies, wardrobe, make up, staging, etc) the rehearsal schedule must have been brutal.

With 72 million views I would think they pulled it off quite nicely.

'Amazing that this classic song (1971)was performed in the Kennedy Center featuring Heart (Ann and Nancy Wilson) 2012'
Also amazing that those old dudes are still around to appreciate it and be appreciated.

I would like to upvote this again! :D

A rendition that brings tears to the eyes of one of the original artists, a huge smile to the face of another, and gleeful nodding and a thumbs up from the third, is worthy.

When all are one, and one is all.

I saw Heart with Cheap Trick and Journey about 5-6 years ago.
Journey got top billing 'cause they had just released their first album with their new singer.
I expected to Cheap Trick to give them a run for the money in terms of best show and for Heart be just kinda' the "third string" act.
BOY WAS I EVER SURPRISED!
Heart blew Cheap Trick OFF THE STAGE! Heart's show was damned near as good as Journey's. They did Zepplin's Immigrant Song and it was awesome!
Ann and Nancy haven't lost a THING.
New Year's Eve 1979 KSHE radio in St. Louis did a count down of the top 100 songs of the decade and declared Stairway to Heaven as #1 and "THE song of the 70's"
That's what it will always be to me. THE quintessential Song of the 70's...

Back when I was in high school, Heart was a local, undiscovered band. We dreamed of a date with Nancy Wilson, but she was out of our league. We were in the small town of Bothell; she was an Eastside girl. So we settled for slow dances to Stairway to Heaven with the girls in our school. I'd still go for a date with Nancy, but it's looking less likely as time goes by.

I feel the same way...

If I ever hear Stairway to Heaven again it will be to soon. The same applies to Freebird, The Lion Sleeps Tonight and In The Year 2525.

...about 'Hotel California'.

Songs like In 'The Year 2525' are absolutely stuck in the time they were made.

Always liked "The Lion Sleeps" and still do. I don't keep it on my phone but a LOT of oldies I do.

Freebird........no comment. But it is a good meme at concerts now.

"Tonight we introduce PAT BOONE"

(someone in the audience)

"PLAY FREEE-BIIIIIRD!!!"

That must have been thrilling to experience live!

I'd agree with others when Zeplin, Freebird, and others come on the radio I cant wait to switch stations. The local classic rock channel plays them on seemingly hourly rotation, I had to find a new station.
