Since retiring, I've been on a never-ending quest (thanks to the gun manufacturers) to find the best concealed carry pistol. Damn people keep coming up with new ones, and I just have to try them all. At the moment, I have a G43, a G43X, a Shield 9mm, a Shield 9mm PC 4" with RDS, a Shield .45 and a P365 SAS. I've also had a G48 and the original P365.
The G43 is a great little gun, but doesn't have sufficient capacity if that's what you're looking for. 6 + 1 rounds ain't bad, it just doesn't compare to many of the others. The G43X is a very nice little gun that I carry quite a bit; enough capacity and still quite concealable. I really like my Shields, and the 9mm was what I bought immediately when it came out; quite concealable with reasonable capacity. Same holds true for the Shield .45, which I use primarily when I'm out hiking around the desert. The Shield 9mm PC with RDS is a sweet little gun and I'm quite happy with the RDS option. I'll wait and see on the Hellcat. I don't know what it can do that the P365 can't, other than one round of capacity.
The P365 SAS is new to me, but I have owned the original P365. I find these little guns to be very concealable, reliable (now), accurate and providing plenty of capacity. The only complaint I have about the P365 SAS is getting used to the sighting system and the fact that mine does not seem to have enough tritium to function without any light. I've contacted Sig and got a shipping label; the slide and sights go back Monday. I took the SAS to the range last weekend and bench-rested it to get an accuracy check and become accustomed to the sights. I only went out to 10 yards, but was able to get some very nice groups once I figured out where it was printing compared to the sight picture. I think these tritium/fiber-optic sights will be good for defensive shooting. They are not bullseye target sights, but they will allow for man-sized hits at reasonable ranges. Now that the prior issues seem to have been handled, I'll likely get another standard sighted P365 and an XL with the Sig Romeo 0 RDS.
In short, I'm quite fond of the Sig P365 in terms of capacity, reliability, accuracy, and overall function, but I've yet to find any one of the listed guns that can't fill the bill depending on your needs and desires. Whoops, almost forgot to mention the Kahr PM9. This one also qualifies, IMHO.
