Welcome Aboard!

I know next to nothing about the 4013, but wanted to say hello.
The Forum members are a Great bunch, and they all love pics.
As soon as easily done, let's see some pics of the apple of your eye.

Welcome! The 4013 is a nice pistol. I have one that was used by my home town Police Department. The 4013TSW is a bit different then this one. Besides adding the rail and changing the slide the 4013TSW is a double stack magazine pistol.

4013

I have had a 4013 for several years now. Mine is the single stack version.
It is a great concealed carry piece and functions very well. I have run a bunch of different types of ammo through it with no probems. Mostly I shoot reloads with cast bullets for practice and they do well in it. I hghly recommend this pistol.

Not all TSW's have rails! All 4013's are great carry weapons, however. Enjoy your new gun!

Hey Jeff, welcome to the forum!!

While you didnt say which 4013 you have, I can only assume that since you didnt mention TSW that you have the first version.

The 4013 came in three versions.
First is a single stack
Second is a double stack, no rail and the billboard on the slide only says Tactical smith and wesson
The third version is also a double stack with the rail (some have removed the rail, some were made without it.) and have 40 tactical smith and wesson billboard on the slide.

You can tell the difference between the two TSW's as the rail version, weather it has the rail or not because the frame is also machined differently then the non railed version.

There are also features of the TSW that I wont go into as they have been beat to death in other threads.

I can tell you that I have put anything and everything thu mine and it just keeps asking for more. I have never had any type of failure of any kind with mine.

I also have the 4014 version. It's become my favorite 3rd gen S&W pistol.

They only made a little over 500 of the 4014's- it looks like we have several of them on this thread!

all 4014's are the single stack version with 8 round magazines

I received the following information from S&W when asking about the production years of the 4013's:

  • The non-rail version 4013TSW “Tactical” was made from 1997-99 (although mine was actually produced 11/96)
  • The railed version 4013TSW “.40 Tactical Smith & Wesson” was made from 2000 to 2006
  • The single-stack, non-TSW version would have been produced prior to 1997.

This lill tidbit of information I did not know.. Thanks!!!!

I am a proud owner of the single stack version.............

A perfect B-Day gift from my pops................

It does have some wear, which I'm still planning on having taken care of. I do wish I had a camera to post photos on the boards for all to see!!!

I've yet to take it to the range, but a range report will follow for sure once that happens and things slow down some at work!!!
