+P ammo is fine. Late 50's is my guess, Has the flat cylinder release wich is popular among collectors, appears to be in good condition.

Your "Model 36 Chiefs Special" IMO is likely an early to mid 1960's made gun judging by the serial number, 3 screw frame, late style "Flat Latch" cylinder release and diamond Magna stocks.
As for value its hard to say but your gun looks to be in excellent condition with box and original docs, its 1960's features make it more desireable than a 70's or 80's era gun,
On a side note the Chiefs special went through several changes by the time your gun was made being introduced in the early 1950's.
Perhaps to the right buyer somewhere in the $550 to $650 range ?

According to the box label, the serial number on your Chiefs Special is 346728. According to Roy, CS #353801 shipped in September, 1964, so yours would probably be from about that time or possibly a little bit earlier.
The flat latch disappeared in 1966 and the diamond stocks a year or two later.
With the box, tools and unused warranty card, market value is probably in the $550-$575 range. At least that is about what I'd be willing to pay for it.

Again, thank you to all for your input. It was given to me through various circumstances. Meantime I have been fairly active hog hunting at night and wanted a light sidearm. I had considered this gun. But based on the above this will remain in it's box in the safe (a premise I rarely subscribe to and formerly reserved only for my grandfather's 25/35) and find a more suitable alternate. Happy 4th of July friends. Cheers.
