Howdy, Friends,

I'm brand new to the forum (though technically, I did read a few threads here as I did research toward my first handgun purchase). I actually don't yet have the handgun in my *hand*, but I did order one!

I purchased a Smith & Wesson M&P M2.0 FDE NTS
(FDE = Flat Dry Earth, which is the sandy brown colored version) and NTS (No Thumb Safety). I bought it from Tombstone Tactical, which seemed to have good reviews and had the best price I could find.

This is my first handgun ever, though I'm a well-ripened 50 years old. I grew up in a relatively rural part of Illinois, and shot a rifle and B.B. guns. I went to a place called "Guardian Training Center" in Warminster, PA a couple times over the past two weeks, and was able to shoot a couple different models I was interested in, handle quite a few others to see how they fit my hands, and talked to a number of people and got some great input from them. I had a great experience there! (Okay, end of free plug for them, but really, they were great!)

I'm not sure how much I'll shoot--especially now, since ammo is both scarce and expensive, but have been feeling that the time was right to obtain a handgun, just to have it around for the long haul. Hopefully, I'll never need it for anything other than shooting practice.

Anyway, nice to meet you all, virtual, though it may be!

Doug

Hi and welcome to the forum from Tennessee. There are a lot of good people that can answer any questions you might have.

And a....

And a Hound Dawg Howdy to you from SC!

Glad you joined the owner's club and this forum is a good place to be.

Many of us have been through several shortages and decided to reload our own instead of depend on the market. I know that's a big step, but with the political climate the way it is, it keeps us shooting during bad times.
