Just wanted to post in the right forum, as most of this was from my Intro thread. (Forgive me if you've read it already)

Just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. My name is Steven. You may recognize this forum name from other forums, as also use it for my automotive and other various forums.

My 15-22 arrived last week, with the SN starting DZL. Other then two or three shots, I haven't had a chance to take it out for some range time / target practice.

I choose one with the quad rail and flash suppressor, because I already knew what I had in mind as far as accessories, and the overall "tactical" look/ usage of the gun I was going for.

I am starting to get the odds and ends including:
- 3 extra S&W mags (already arrived)

- Mag couplers (already arrived)

- UTG Covert Homeland Security carrying case (already arrived)

- Sling - (I am leaning towards a 2 point sling, and putting an extra loop on the foregrip)
Please point me in the right direction on this. What brands should I look at, and what should I stay away from.
I like the simplicity of this one, but not sure if it would fit, or be too cheap.
BLACKHAWK! Universal Tactical 1.25-Inch Sling: Amazon.com: Sports & Outdoors

I have been to my local Walmart, and found that they only carry slings that already have the loops installed. I guess I'll have to try to swing by the local gun shop sometime and see what they offer. Maybe even the local Military Surplus shop (I just thought of as I was typing)

- Tactical foregrip / bipod - Need Suggestions! I don't know if I want a combo, or individuals on this. I seem to go back and forth. I am going to try to get more range time with this gun before I decide.

- red Dot / Scope (I was thinking of this combo
Amazon.com: NcStar Mark III Tactical P4 Sniper 3-9X42/Scope Adaptor Mount/Red Dot Combo )

I'm looking forward to reading the threads I haven't seen yet. I'm sure there are plenty of answers and suggestions waiting to fill my brain.

Welcome from Ft Lauderdale area.
If you have internet access you can order just about any accessory by mail order too.

Welcome! I have that Blackhawk sling. its nothing special but does exactly what its suppose to haha. so for $7 (what i paid) its worth it

welcome from a fellow floridian. nice setup so far. i tried the bipod/grip combo and it was too bulky for me. i split it up into a magpul rvg and a utg bipod. i did the same for optics - utg 3.8" red dot and utg 3-9x cqb scope. the rvg and red dot stay on 95% for indoor shooting and i just swap to the bipod and scope when im doing longer distances at the outdoor range.

Engine49Guy: I know far too well about the online ordering, its a dangerous place, and Amazon is usual where i find things the most! I've been scouting accessories since before I purchased the gun.

OliRage: Glad to hear about the sling. I'm not going for fancy. I want practical. I just ordered it from Amazon a few minutes ago!

w0ady: Nice to see so many Floridians! I just ordered the stand alone foregrip. I figured if I didnt like it, one of my buddies would. I'm still unsure of the optics. I'd like to try a few out before I buy, but realize that's not always possible. I'll keep asking and looking and let you all know what I come up with.

thanks for all the replies!

it is with amazon! return shipping is usually about $5 as long as you keep things in perfect condition. i actually ordered the utg 4.2" red dot and then decided i wanted the smaller 3.8" version. about 50% of my 15-22 parts have been returned through amazon or ebay because i wasnt sure what i would like - rail covers, bipods, grips, etc. just make sure before you purchase that they do allow returns within 30 days or something similar. that or sell it on the forums like im doing with a few leftovers.

Any of us Floridians ever find out if we are close or relatively near each other so that we could get together for a show and tell or a day at the range? Since getting my rifle, this forum has been very helpfull; but I don't know anyone close that has one. I'm in Brevard County.

I live just up the road in T-ville. I usually go to the Titusville Rifle & Pistol club range off SR46.

Hit me up with a message if you ever want to meet up there. The Police Hall of Fame is nearby, too. But I haven't been there yet.

Welcome! Florida is my 2nd favorite state. Take the family to Seaside every year. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

Hi Gatillo! I go to Police Hall of Fame range all the time. Try to go at least once a week. Sometimes work schedule doesn't permit that but I like that place alot. Have never been to the club off 46. Is it private, members only or can anyone go?

im in jacksonville but ive been considering doing a north fl meet at the st augustine FOP range for all my 15-22/xd buddies.

Do you work at Weustoff? I work at Parrish.

I work at Central Florida Treatment Center . I work with drug addiction counseling and nursing.

Good for you...keep the users clean, unobtunded
and away from my mad intubation skillz! :p

Give me a heads up the next time you hit the PHoF and I'll see if I can make it. I've ridden by many times and wondered about how the shooting is there.

nice to see all the other posts from other FLA members! it would definitely be interesting to set up a forum day at a range. I've done a few forum meets with members of FullSizeChevy, and they have always led to great times, and good friends being made..

I ordered the Blackhawk sling and the UTG Ergonomic foregrip in last week (or was it two at this rate?) The sling was basic and exactly what I had in mind. The foregrip I was unsure of. However once I got it on, I like the feel, and the look of it as well. Very Happy I went with this one.

I also picked up the Tapco butt pad from some website or another. (to be honest I've been all over the place lately)

With everything pretty much here, I cant wait to take it out and seriously shoot it. (more then the 4 shots I got off in my friend's back acreage)

Recently moved to Fort Myers from Massachusetts. Just picked up my .22 last week and finally took her out for a spin. Put about 500 rounds downrange and absolutely loved it. Solid choice w/ the UTG foregrip. Solid accessory for the value. Give the AFG a try too.

Sidenote, ran into 2 other guys at the range w/ 15-22s. Good crew.

Whats up fellow Floridians, - Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale Area here!

looks like the 15-22 has some good coverage of the rain-shine state!

quick update:
I bought a "Pursuit" brand 3-9x32 scope at Bass Pro just after Christmas, after finally getting the time to mount it on my .22 I found out that the stock scope rings are just barely too small to fit on the rail. I've been looking all over for rings that will fit, but haven't been confident enough on the reviews to purchase any online. I also haven't had enough time to make it back to Bass Pro and see what they have available.

Side Note:
Ammo around here is rare! The usual spots that normally have a small selection are absolutely wiped out. How's it looking in other parts of the state? I've got a bit of traveling going on over the next few months and will be all over, so if anyone knows of any places with reasonable prices and adequate selection, please feel free to share. I'll swing by on my journeys.
