I'm from Southwest Missouri, not too far from Springfield. Just found this site today. Currently own one S&W (500). Shot a few S&W while I was in the military and really like their revolvers.

Retired Navy, currently working at a power plant. I live on a small farm.

Never really had the itch to own a handgun until recently. You can count me in as one of the bandwagon of people who thought we might need to get it now or never be able to. I'd always thought if I got a handgun, I'd get a novelty gun (read cannon) just for fun, but as it turned out I started out with a Springfield XD in .45 for a practical gun. I liked shooting it so much, I figured I'd go ahead with the hand cannon so I got the 500.

Anyhoo, looking forward to reading and learning on this site.

Welcome aboard. I'm an XD owner/shooter myself, it's a fine handgun. A S&W 500 is a bit too much for me, the 44 mag S&W I had was enough. You signed up at the right time with the new format.
 
Welcome from the south side of KC MO; S&W 45 Colt Mountain Gun is as big as I shoot; Congrats on the big handcannon, saw on in action not too long ago and I have to admit, it's impressive.
 
Welcome from the east side of KCMO. I travel thru your neck of the woods often going down to God's country south of you (just my opinion, folks).
