Hello there, I'm Matt and I've been lurking around here for about a year now. I've got 7 S&W revolvers, 4 of them pre-lock. I got hooked after finding my first 686-3 in a local gun store last year. I had bought a new 686-6 earlier in the year but I fell in love with the nostalgia of the -3.
I've since picked up a 629-4 square butt with an 8 3/8's barrel. A 29-3 6 inch that has the counter rotation problem. A 29-6 6 inch with a square butt. Also have a 69 and 66-8 both bought lightly used.
The 29-3 is the nicest looking of the bunch but unfortunately the worst shooter. I did put a new blue cylinder stop spring but it only cured some of the problem. I can't shoot full house loads in it.
