Sorry, I know this is a Smith forum, but perhaps someone can help me here. I have an Astra 357 4" revolver that looks very similar to the pic I posted. It seems to closely resemble a Smith 5 screw, I believe. Anyways, I took ownership recently, aware that the double action feature didn't work right. I took it apart, and it appears, according to an online schematic, that I am missing the sear pin and sear spring.

I guess my question is, based on posted pic, can someone please list me S&W models that I could research and perhaps find a sear spring for? I know interchangeability might not work, but Astra revolvers are uncommon and parts are near impossible to find, and I'm willing to give it a shot. Might work.

I found an online store that has the pin, but not the spring.

Thanks!

From the picture that looks like a small coil spring. I'd either buy a small coil spring assortment pack like Brownells sells or try a S&W cylinder stop spring. You'll probably have to trim the spiring down and will probably make the first one too short, but should be an easy fix. Heck, a ball point pen spring might work.

Sorry for the late response... I forgot to look, LOL

Thanks for the ideas, especially the ballpoint pen spring :D

The ball point spring isn't a laughable idea; I regularly improve the trigger pull of Lugers by substituting a hunk of ball point spring for the regular spring which I guess they make needlessly strong for combat conditions.
