Your number is near the end of the 1961-1970 range which was #712954 - #826977
An H was added to the serial in 1969.

Thanks for the info. i got a great deal with the correct box. 200.00 is a great deal, and just picked up a Reguler police .38 ctg with out the bo just the gun 90%. 250.00. if u can date this one also S# 20616, i will send u a pick as soon as i get a chance,Can you tell me why u get hooked on these Smiths, I think the look, thanks

At $200.00 and $250.00 respectively, you got tremendous deals on both guns. Take good care of them and your investment will appreciate even further.

Nice looking revolver you have there. I'm not really sure about the date on these models. The serial given seems early for the gun that I see in the picture.
If you post this gun in the 1896-1961 section you will get a response from someone who knows these old guns.

Bought one of these new back around 71, has a 3" barrel. Bought a box of shells with it. Still got over half a box left. Think I paid around $ 89.00 for gun shells and tax. Still in the gun safe. .32 S&W Long. Have no Idea what its worth. If some one could give me an idea would be most helpfull.

IMO, they are worth approx. twice the $200 & $250 you paid for them. So $400 - $500, more or less, in today's market. That's JMO. Much depends on your area of the country and the motivation of the buyer.

In the condition shown, I agree with the $400 - $500. You got some extremely good buys there.
