can someone measure their rear sight on a 2.5" 19/66 for me?
Trying to give the measurements to someone that has a bunch of spare sights and need to make sure it's the right size. Thanks

I appreciate the info. I should have asked what is the length of the entire sight assembly is overall

Measured with digital calipers the height of the rear sight blade on my 1972 vintage 2 1/2 inch model 19 is 0.145 inch. I'll also note that I have my sight cranked way high because I reload my practice 38 spl. loads with a 125 grain bullet because they cost less than 158 grain bullets. If you plan on shooting with 140 or 125 grain bullets I would suggest you look for a taller rear sight blade. In fact if you can snag 2 of different heights it may come in handy at some point.

BTW, Bore Transit Recoil causes lighter bullets to shoot LOWER than heavier bullets. With 125 grain bullets it would be best to have a rear sight blade in the range of .165 to .175 inch.

I will also note that you want to be careful with your bullet choices when shooting 357 Magnums in either a model 19 or 66. The basic rule is to only shoot 158 grain loads because hotly loaded Magnums featuring 125 grain bullets is believed to be a major factor in the forcing cones splitting. Me, as a reloader I play it extra careful with the loads for my model 19 and load my 357 Magnums with a 158 grain bullet and a powder charge weight that falls between 38 spl. +P and the starting weight for 357 Magnum. Basically they are a super light Magnum that rather closely matches the energy of a 9mm parabellum. In addition to being gentle on the forcing cone it's also a load with just enough snap to it to make it a fun to shoot load that won't beat you up.

If it is the sight leaf you are looking for, and not the adjustable rear sight slide, be aware that the sight leaf for the 2-1/2" 19/66 runs the length of the top of the frame, to where it meets the top of the barrel. On 4-inch guns and longer, the sight leaf does not go all the way to the end of the top of the frame, but ends about 5/16" before it meets the barrel. I'm pretty sure the shorter version would fit a 2-1/2" gun, but it would not be correct.
