Am going through a box of grips trying to match them up with the guns they belong to (or at least fit) and came up with a pair of black hard rubber grips I can't identify.

For relative size, here they are flanked by a pair of known K frame round butt grips.

They're too small for a J frame so I suspected they might be I frame, but the only I frame gun I own (or ever owned) is an early Regulation Police (s/n 4226) with the extended grips. So I took off the RP grips and, except for along the rebated backstrap, they seem to fit.

The pencil number off the right panel is 317172. The only I frame model I could find whose s/n range goes that high is the .32 HE Third Model. Is that what I got??? Anyone out there who owns s/n 371172 and is missing their hard rubber grips?

Any guidance &/or education would be welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

Russ

I would think they belong to a 32 or 38 top break

If they fit a second model "ladysmith" I just happen to need a set.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks, it is probably a duck.
Sounds like you nailed it to me.

With a little research it appears that these grips wont fit a Ladysmith. These are for a I frame,I need grips for an M frame. If anybody has a spare set please let me know. Thanks for the offer Linde.
