So the woman is buying her own gun and she chose a M&P9c. Funny thing is that I had never put one in my hand before a few days ago. She asked what I thought about it. To be honest, I bought a the 17 long before the M&P line came out and just figured I had the poly frame stuffed full of 9mm bug out of my system. Then I took hold of the M&P and it's been over since that day last week. I'm selling the Sigma 40VE to a guy for $225 and I'm trying to figure what a used second gen Glock 17 with five 17 capacity mags should go for. Four of the mags are unused and one is hardly even broke in yet. The Glock itself has seen thousands of rounds, but as much as I no longer care for it, still it has been flawless the whole time. But what should I be asking for her??? I was going to ask $400 but that seems low and yet $500 seems high???

Help me sell a Glock! Bob wants a new M&P40 Nickel Boron slide!!!!

:D

EDIT: Just to let it be said, I'm not trying to sell my Glock here... This isn't the classified section, duh... :P

I think you're on track at $400. Summit Gun Broker sells 17s for $385 when they have them, but you have 5 hi-cap mags, so you can probably get more.

how much will you give me to take it?

Like I said, she has never been bad to me so it's hard for me to really bad mouth her. But I just never could get used to that 2x4 feeling grip. I added a Hogue slip on grip and that added some curves but adding curves to an already wide body makes her into a fat girl almost.

"fatish" .... dont let her hear you say that man:D
really ... someone had to beat Sip to it so I volunteered.
Mr 220 is probably about right ... 385 ish for the gun and a bit more for the mags ... better still, part out the kit a bit ... gun and a pair at 385 and 15 or so each for the mags and your looking at $430 - $450 depending on how you play the cards.

You guys kill me. :P I may already have it sold at $450. Tax time always seems to bring out the buyers. Not so much these days, but either way they are out there. I just an a terrible judge of prices these days and wanted to be sure I wasn't giving her away or trying to rob someone.

As soon as it's cash in hand time, the boron nickel search begins...

I was going to say $450.00 would be my asking price, especially with the extra mags. I may have even started with $500. You'd sell it in a minute around here at that price.

Yes, but then shipping and FFL fee's would sour a semi-sweet deal. Glocks are a dime a dozen. This isn't a P/R revolver with box, tools, and papers... ;)

Keep the Glock.
I have LLama 45 that is not really worth the time it takes to take it apart. I use it for my Ho, $shimatzie gun. I keep it in the are where I watch TV Just in case. If the Glock still works, for however crapolly Glocks work keep it for that purpose or have it for a tackle box gun. I hear they will still work even if the have Power Bait and fish scales in the barrel. I do not know the whole truth behind it but its better than wasting a good fillet knife on some moron.

Glocks are good trade bait. Maybe you can swing a private trade?

Just go buy the M&P 9c. If you reach the point that you HAVE to sell the Glock, you should always be able to clear $400.

Have a Glock 17 . I use it as an under the mattress intruder wake up call. My choice in carry is the Sig Sauer P229 SAS . Now that is a wake up call for someone. A little hard to conceal but still a great gun . Glock is good but its like the kmart brand of guns .

Around here, a used 17 can be found for $375-425 OTD, if in good condition at pawnshops. I bought one FTF about a year ago for $325.

I can buy a brand new 17 for $540 plus tax.

A bout 400 is a good price if you want a relatively quick cash sale. But... since you have five mags for it, I'd wait until a bit closer to November - you'd get a better price. It's both an election year and time for the Mayan apocalypse, so you could get 500 later in the year holding on to it.

Yeah, but there are a lot of folks who would jump on a Gen 2 M17 in a heartbeat who would not even let a Gen 4 in their house. I'm one of them. Since this is a Smith forum, I won't bother with the many references to the various reasons for this.

Since you asked for opinions

LE, firefighters, first responders, active military can buy Blue Label Glocks for $399.99; standard sights, three mags. I agree some folks like the Gen. II style frames (I bought four) and would pay a little extra to get one. That said, the Gen. I & II frames are getting old, and the polymer is failing. My first Gen. II G17 had the frame replaced for that reason. The repair/replacement was free, but I no longer had a Gen. II frame. Used mags can be had for $10.00 and up. Glock, Inc. will replace worn mags for free. I recently purchased a dozen used Glock mags for $10.00 each and Glock replaced them all with high cap mags.

Of the nine Glocks I bought, seven were used, one NIB, one was a trade. I gave between $250.00 to $350.00 each for the used ones, each included a few mags. Glock, Inc. techs went through them for free, I did pay for night sights and steel sights, but the standard polymer sights were replaced for free on two of my guns. Mags were swapped out or rebuilt as required, and +2 extensions added to most of my G26 mags, again for free.

$350.00 to $400.00 would seem to be a good price for your gun, based on your description, thousands of rounds fired, and unknown frame condition. The techs stripped my G17 frame, held it to my ear, and squeezed the frame. It popped and cracked, a sign of lack of strength. Glock replaced 29 of 35 parts on that particular gun, all for free, and a five week wait.

I do live 35 miles from Glock, Inc. Someone in another location would pay dearly to ship the gun back for service.

I have accepted the Glock. I own lots more S&W's, and am always looking for my next one or two.
