Dear Moderator and S&W friends,

Having read the rules I hope that this little plea for help will be accepted by the Moderator and that we can count on the help of my American friends to support us during this difficult time.

As you will be well aware there have been some terrible terrorists attrocities committed in France and around the world.

As a knee-jerk reaction to these events the European Union are proposing to bring in sweeping changes to the laws in Europe which will affect our rights in Europe.

As you are well aware of in the USA, many politicians and rich types are trying to push through changes that go against the founding principles of the 2nd Ammendment. I myself as a European am a paid up member of the NRA and actively help and support the rights of my American fellow shooters.

I am asking you or the Moderator to come to our aid and support us with a petition (yes I know it isn't much, but there are many Americans who believe in Freedom of rights for others - I hope?

The link is here, Petition

It is very easy to sign the petition and it would help our cause over here. As I have always said if we don't all stand together today then tomorrow it will be a problem for others.

Thanks for your support, and once again I do not wish to break any rules on the forum and respect the right of the moderator to take away this message although I hope you don't.

Regards, Mark

Another Texan signing the form. Hope you get the numbers you need?

I am a European and would be severely affected by these regulations. But I cannot sign the petition as the petition site change.org collects too much private information and has too lax rules for their publication.

I would naturally publish my name and country but the other identification and location information is too sensitive to be shared within such terms of privacy.

I see what you are saying but they do want to ensure it is someone real signing the petition. You could open another email account and/or not complete the full address?

The goal is try to get our voices heard. I like all shooter whether in Europe or in the USA are sick and tired of having our rights trampled on. We are sick and tired of being compared to terrorists. We are sick and tired of being accused as mass killers. We are legal, decent citizens and we are either defending ourselves, hunting, or just enjoying our sports. We don't need these politicians covering up their errors in judgment by targeting the shooting fraternity.

I hope everyone gets onboard this issue as we need to remain united and strong against unjust persecution.

Good luck from Texas, it reminds me of Neville Chamberlain and cronies. They may remember that Chamberlain's policies did not work out well for Europe.

I feel they may have even less strength than old Neville. As always I can count on Texas to offer a strong support. It didn't escape me when I was in Houston ( sorry I didn't have time to explore more of that great state) that the Texan people are proud but defiant and don't like to be mucked about by idiots.

For everyone out there who are not up on their history I recommend to have a search for Neville Chamberlain and his efforts.... His opponent wasn't so weak on armes policy - although that certain Austrian did disarm the citizens in 1935. Remember everybody that most deaths due to firearms have been caused by state leaders who chose to disarm the population and then cause chaos. They were not committed by the likes of us decent honest citizens.
