Help please from PPC auto shooters

Hi folks,
I am going to shoot an auto pistol in a PPC match in the morning. I have looked and been unable to find how to deal with reloads.
What is the "Letter of the law"?
The description says 12 rounds with a mandatory reload in 20 seconds.
Is this load 6, shoot 5, reload 6 and shoot 7?
Is it 6 to slide lock, reload and 6 more?
The first secnario would be my choice but I don't know if it is correct.
Any input will be appreciated.

Range officer will always tell you to load with 6 rounds. Everytime you load will be from empty.

For the OP, how'd you do on your first run at PPC? Find it challenging enough and are you planning on shooting more PPC matches? Inquiring minds want to know.
