I've come across a 25-5 (.45LC) with a 4.0 inch barrel and Pachmayr grips. No box, tools or papers, but photos show a clean looking revolver for sale @$500.00. I've asked the owner if he might be interested in my LNIB 4006 with box, 2 mags, and adjustable sights. The 25-5's owner has expressed an interest in my 4006 - which I think is worth maybe $350.00. I don't really have a need for a 25-5, but what's not to love about a classic N frame, especially in a caliber I've never shot before? My thoughts are to offer my 4006 and $150 - $200 in cash for the 25-5. What do you think?

Regards,

Dave

I have one that I would not take $500 for and would not trade it either. They are nice guns, especially the older ones that have not been fired much.

Just pay the money and bring it home. You will enjoy it. My biggest gripe about them is the difficulty in finding ammo for it.

At $500, I'd say you'd better jump on that 25-5 especially if it is in good shape. Seems like most of the ones I run across are much higher than that (regardless of condition )
Wish I could find a good one at that price.:(

Your 4006 may be worth a little more than the $350 if LNIB with all the accessories. A common police trade in in good shape will bring almost that much. That said, I'd trade my 4006 for a 25 pretty quickly. I have at least one of all the 3rd gen guns and the 4006 is my least favorite for some reason.
