Help- surface rust issue

Off to the store to get Scotch Brite pads. Will post on results.

Ok. Stripped the pistol down to completely clean it. Good thig, as it had gunk, moisture and rust pion the internals. Cleaned as much off as possible with rubbing alcohol and now letting it soak in Hoppes #9. Tommorrow work begins with Scotch Brite pads.

Ok. Finally got it back together. Overall, it looks much better than it did but still not perfect. When I get the funds (money issues at the moment) I am going to see about having it blasted. Any suggestions for what type of place to look to do that and what I should expect to pay?
Thanks again for all of the helpful advice. This is a great board!

I agree with Waywatcher. I'd like to see what you mean by "not perfect." I have no experience with bead blasting so I cannot comment on where to have it done or how much it might cost. If it was mine I would intermittently work on the "not perfect" areas until you have them in satisfactory condition.

After pics. Lots of elbow grease etc. open to suggestions to take care of the remaining issues.

Wish I could figure out how to put multiple pics into one post.
Or that I wasn't so lazy that I would take the time it figure it out :)

I'd suggest some 600 grit sandpaper (or Emory cloth) on the whole thing, following all of my rules for scotchbrite pads from above. It's looking a lot better! :)

I think Waywatcher gives reasonable advice regarding 600 grit sandpaper. You could then finish up with the Scotch Brite pads. Try the smallest possible area as a test.
