UPDATE
Well I decided to get the factory letter for this gun and it just came in the mail today. mikepriwer, you were right on. The gun was shipped to Standart Brothers Hardware Co., Detroit, Mi. on Aug. 29, 1928.
This gun belonged to my Great Uncle who was said to have been an auxiliary officer for the Detroit P.D. in the '50's. I was going through the box the gun was in and also found the original "Safety Inspection Certificate" with the chief of police signature and said Great Uncle's thumb print dated 1957.
I plan on shooting this wonderful piece of history soon and enjoying it for many years to come. Thanks to everyone for all of your help.
