After 800-1000 rounds with diffrent brands of ammo,3 mags, I'm yelling uncle. A any time 2nd shot or 10 shot I get a FTF. Try to eject the unfired bullet, and you have to lock open the slide, and take your finger nail under the rim and pull it out after dropping the mag.

You can put a a fired shell in the chamber to dry fire and it will enject that.Load the shell that didn't fire It will fire that shell and leave the slide back like it should on the last shot.

Have a buddy that has a 22A,used my mags and ammo, no problems.

????????????

Thanks:confused:

I have the same gun and have had no problems outside of a couple of ammo issues...not the gun. I don't have a lot of experience with rim-fire guns but since I have had this one it seems to me that rim-fire ammo is not as consistent as center-fire. Bulk Remington and bulk WWB run pretty good but the Winchester "Wild Cat" is very inconsistent so will not be buying that again...might even just chuck it. My Talo has performed well. I remember shooting a ton of .22 rifles as a kid with the occasional misfires...eject and keep going was all we did then.

How many rounds on this gun? If less than a couple of hundred maybe shoot it some more and see if it settles down after a reasonable break-in. Sorry if this isn't any help.

Edit: see your round count now...should re-read before I post!!!

Actually the part where you said you put a round chambered and then pull the slide back and it does not eject is somewhat normal. The blowback design assist the brass out of the breach. Mine will do the same thing as yours as far as ejection goes. The firing pin is probably broken and/or worn with that many rounds. From what you are describing it sounds like an easy fix.

Some of the cheaper ammo will cause these type of problems on a reg basis as there's not quite enough gas pressure I think in some of the caseings they produce. Dirt is also another factor that can cause similar problems on this model as well. Check your feed ramp as well for roughness which can also be part of the problem on occasion as well.

I know this thread is pretty old now, but I suffered a similar issue recently. So for the benefit of future forum searchers... here it is: I had fired a similar number of rounds through my 22A and started having ftf issues, it didn't matter what ammo I used. My solution was to replace the buffer pad - the white plastic part that comes as a spare with the handgun when it is new. It seems that my buffer pad had been overly compressed through normal wear and it was preventing the slide from fully returning smoothly back to the breech. This resulted in the round not fully going home into the chamber and when the firing pin struck the rim of the case it had a small space behind the rim (kinda like headspace but on the other side of the cartridge rim) and rather than compressing the priming compound between the breech and firing pin it moved the case slightly forward. Every round looked like it was hard struck but it still failed to fire. Since I changed the buffer I have had no issues at all. Two lessons for me with this: 1. Keep the boltface and breech clean even if you never clean the bore. 2. monitor the condition of the buffer and always keep a spare on hand.
