A while back I acquired an older Model 41, 7 3/8" barrel complete with internal weights. Everything is in great condition with the exception of the installed internal weight. It seems to be stuck, I can't remove it. Over the last three days I have been letting Kroil oil soak into the cavity around the weight. I have heated it, tapped it and still can't break it loose. Any tricks or techniques I can use to get it loose?

You are on the right track. I had the same problem years ago and I stood the barrel on end (muzzle down) to let the Kroil soak in around the threads for several days. Then I clamped the barrel in a leather padded vise and, using the correct size screwdriver, applied pressure until it finally came loose. Just go slow and don't hesitate to use more Kroil and time if it refuses to budge.

Thanks for the response. Still letting it "soak". Is the problem rust on the threads, or is there a problem with these loosening over time or shooting and maybe someone installed a little loc-tite? I'm guessing it is the conventional "righty tighty, lefty loosy".

The threads on the screw in weights are Fine thread, and also RH.
Since the very end of the weight has the threads. You should also determine
whether the aluminum weight is in place or the steel one. Magnet will help there. Too much tapping if you strike it hard enough you could swell the weight. If the screwdriver fails to remove it, a larger hole and
an easy out may be required.
