Good evening,

Need some help here 😭

I just got a BG 38 from a relative but didn't work well…

1) it wouldn't cycle… so I opened it and found that the hammer spring and guide were not set on the right way and the firing pin block was broken.

2) so I put it the hammer spring in the right position, and removed the firing pin block; the spring being in the right position allowed the gun to cycle and was working fine…. But without the firing pin block, remember, I removed it.

3) then…. When I was dry-firing it to test it (I checked and I read somewhere that it's ok to dry-fire this piece)…. And the firing pin plate came off!!!!! It came off with the spring through the barrel!!!

These are my questions, if someone could help here:

A) does the firing pin block retains the firing pin and because the gun did not have the firing pin block in place this happened? As far as I know, the block does no retain the pins travel length.

B) how do I put the plate back?

C) by putting a new firing pin block in place the gun will work fine again?

Thanks a lot in advance
