somewhere between 1919 and 1942, value $400 up
Like Guy posted above, you have a 32 Hand Ejector, made somewhere between 1919 and 1942. SCSW 4th Edition lists this gun as serial number 331320 in 1919 to s/n 536685 in 1942.
Mine is serial number 514771 and it shipped in December 1939 per Roy Jinks (S& W Historian). The characteristics of this gun are: small S&W logo on left side frame, 1 line "made in USA" on right side of frame, 4-1/4" barrel, 5 screw, built in the I-Frame, and LERK (Large Ejector Rod Knob).
I got mine recently at an estate sale for $400.00 and it came with the original maroon box, cleaning rod and a paper document telling you to clean the gun with nitro-solvent.
I think if you got your gun for $400 to $600 depending on where you live you most likely did just fine because you simply do not see these guns for sale much anymore.
Mine likes the 97 grain modern ammo just fine with no recoil so the ladies and grandkids like it too.
