Help with identifing

I have a what appears to be a early model 10 Serial# 10859. Can anyone help with the age and model? It is a 38 special in stainless or nickel finish. It is a hand ejector without the support for the ejector rod.

Is that the entire serial number that is on the butt of the gun or is there a letter in front of the number, like an S or a C or D?

there are no letters only the 5 digits, on the butt of the gun,cylinder,frame all matching.

.38 Hand Ejector Model of 1899, also known as the .38 Military & Police first model. With that serial number, it probably shipped in 1900 or 1901.

It is a .38 Military & Police model 1899, which was made in blue and nickel finish. It was shipped between that year and about 1902. Photos would help to be sure.
