howdy. need some info on a m624 i just picked up. serial # ahb 1xxx. it seems like they were only made a few years in the mid 80's. this one is a no dash, were there dash models of these, and, if so, what were the changes? also, i want to get a scope mount for it, i'm guess it is too early to be pre-drilled/tapped. thanks

Hi,

my 624 is #AHB0XXX, no dash, no drill and tapped, just plain 4", Tagret Stocks, square butt (now not any longer). Made in early 1985, as far as I know. I don't know if they ever made a 624-something. Check out if the box has the red C in circle, than the gun had been checked in the factory recall for cylinder issues. Mine was.

regards
Ulrich

it does have the red c, i checked on that before i bought it. it's funny that i was even interested in this as i've had a bunch of 29/629's already. thanks for your reply

There was only ever one run of 624's (at Skeeter's request) in 1985.
That's what I have always believed. I may be wrong.
Both my 4" and 6.5" have the AHB serial. The 3" is an ALV.

SCSW #3 lists a 624-1 (1988) New yoke retention system, radius
stud package and floating hand. If anyone has ever seen or has
one of these let us know. They would be rare if they exist.
