Hey Labworm, ladder 13, and many, many, others

In beautiful downtown Dearborn, MI, it's 9 degrees, headed for -10 tonight. It will top out at about 2 above tomorrow.

The chili was delicious tonight. Comfort food hits the spot.

Enjoy! :D :D :D

Yes, I agree, winter has its beauty. But winter is also cold. It just gets old having to deal with the cold and crowds and scads of impatient drivers hurrying to get someplace else all the time. Hmmmm...maybe it's not winter I need to get away from.

Just pretend this is witty.
That might just be one of the reasons I like it out here during the off season.
In spring and summer the tourists come out and block up the roads, tailgating and jumping all over their brakes whenever the road curves and there's lotsa curves out here. In the winter it's just locals and they actually know how to drive and actually use their turn signals.
That being said, I'm still looking forward to spring.

I'm sitting here at a frigid 52 degrees! :D Yeah, the schools get a two hour delay if the weatherman mentions snow.

On a more serious note hope you all stay safe.

Reno Nevada just broke ANOTHER high record with a 72 degree in this "Winter month" !!

We need, snow, rain, any type of moisture to help our drought out !! It just keeps going north to Oregon and East..........
with the stinking highs right of San Francisco.......
or going south to Arizona.

CRAZY weather..............this year.

Well let's see it is 9 degrees with a wind chill bringing it to -7 degrees right now. It would be a struggle but I could live with 74 degrees right now. :)

A very nice dream for us!

The weather guesser said we should hit about -20 tonight. Should be fun out snow plowing tomorrow.:D

I quoted my own post because I see I made a mistake, and wish to apologize for it.

It only hit +5 last night. My wife told me what the next night’s temperature was going to be by misunderstanding the weather guesser and I put it on here!

Tonight is going to go that low-20 or less they say (I saw the news myself)

Sorry about that, Dave

Got another foot plus last night. It stopped a while ago and in a few minutes I head out to start clearing.

Then I have to figure out how to re caulk one of my older replacement windows because there is a small, but annoying leak under the sill. No damage other than a couple of suspended ceiling tiles, but I don't want it to spread.

In the spring, I'll have to have two windows replaced. I guess 25 years isn't too bad for low end windows.

Well I don't know about you guys but I love snow and ice. And after I get enough I pick up the remote and change the channel, don't want to get frostbite you know from seeing too much on the tv.

Besides if I see ice on the ground around me I want it to be because I spilled my iced tea. We don't like snow and ice here in the desert.:)

Or heavy rain. I have seen the signs that warn about what can happen if a serious rain comes and the water has no place to run off.

Greetings from S.E. Texas. I promise (if you boys will help me remember on August 14, 2015) to go out back at 3 p.m., with 911 on standby for heat prostration and duplicate photo.

Now be honest with those poor Yanks. You used the Winter thermometer. That 140 won't cover an August day in Texas. Have to get out the Summer one about the first of May.

I went to a range on the PA/NJ border yesterday morning. It was 7 degrees on the firing line at 8 am. We weren't the only ones there either.

Turn about, is indeed, fair play. Hope you birds are doing ok up there? Ya'll have had way more than you need and I hope it clears up for ya soon.

Stay warm and careful.

On the deck, in the shade, facing north. I'm never moving!

The 91/30s in your frigid picture is really cool. They haven't seen this much snow since The Enemy at The Gate, the Battle for Stalingrad. Have read where the " weather defeated the Germans, not Russia." Don't surrender up there. Be careful and stay warm.
For sure, the Mosins are much better suited for those temps then I am.

Well, today in New Hampshire it is a balmy 17* with a low tonight of -4* with snow fluries and windy. I gotta take a vacation to the South or Southwest b/c the snow is over 6' in places and I'm running out of places to put it.

Neighboring central Mass here with the same, and I'm fighting the flu which makes it all the worse.

Eastern MA is the same thing. The snow at the end of my driveway is piled about 7' high. I spent 3 1/2 hours clearing snow today. My neighbor helped me by using his snow rake to clear my roof and I helped him by clearing a path so that his oil man can make a delivery. A bunch of us cleared around the hydrant on the street.

I found the source of a small but annoying water leak and have caulk that I'll use as soon at the temperature hits 20 degrees.
